Cora tried not to show the extent of her excitement and relief as she walked with Rayth back to the palace. The lycan was his supposed gift to her, so perhaps it didn't matter if she revealed the extent of her emotions. But she maintained a calm, pleased demeanor, matching his stride with the eager anticipation of seeing her wolf. It didn't even bother her as much as it would have when at one point Rayth took her hand and laced her arm through his as if they were truly a couple.
When they began climbing the stairs to Dr. Wright's lab, her excitement twisted the nerves in her stomach into an intense worry. She silently reminded herself that Grayson assured her that the lycan was okay. He had to be okay.
"Ah, Prince Rayth," Wright nodded respectfully once they approached the lab. It appeared that the 'doctor' had been on his way out of the lab and in a bit of a hurry. There was a large folder of papers tucked under his arm.
