"Goddess, I'm sorry," Cora cried, her tears falling on the beautifully soft fur of the wolf in her lap. "I'm so sorry. Maybe I should have stayed a vampire after all. Then I could fight back. Maybe Zane and Rayth were both right."
She bent her head against his, squeezing her eyes shut and recalling a dream in which she had healed a wolf just like this.
"We have to take him, princess," a guard spoke up from the door.
"Don't touch him," she growled, shooting a glare their way as flowers shot up in a ring around her.
