Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: A New Life

Irene's POV:

"Leave?" Sebastian's face screamed bewilderment, "What do you mean by 'leave'?"

I panicked. What if he knows I am actually not his wife? I might get killed or something.

"N-No, I was just wondering where I left something."

Gosh darn it! That's not a very convincing excuse. I should've rummaged through this room to find some sort of diary. I'm sure this woman has one. No cellphones and no internet definitely equates to writing diaries.

Sebastian's eyebrow arched. "Something? Did you perhaps forget where you placed your diary?"

BINGO! This man—I love this man now.

"Yes," I tried to sound convincing this time, "I-I forgot where I put my diary."

Sebastian stood up, his abs peaking through the translucent pajamas he wore. He's dreamy, charming, and very affectionate unlike my family. Well, he is technically my family because he is my husband. But also, not really.

Sebastian reached for a book within the fancy wooden drawers. He gave me a simple diary contrary to what I was expecting which was a fancier cover with gold embellishments. Then again, that would probably give it away that it was indeed the queen's diary.

"Thank you," I said, carefully reaching for the diary and placing it in a drawer next to our bed.

"You are most welcome. How about we go down for breakfast?"

I stopped. I was expecting for the servants to come into our room and serve us breakfast in bed. It gave me this warm feeling that I could not explain. It may be because my aunt had never let me eat on the family table instead, I dined with the servants who were equally rude to me as they are.

Sebastian leaned closer to me and whisper. "Is there something wrong? It seems as though you are in deep thought."

Deep thought, indeed. I smiled and reached for his elbows like the loving wife I am.

"I am fine. I am just hun—famished."

He raised his eyebrow. "Famished? How come? We did not do our nightly activities as well..."

I felt blood quickly rushing up to my face. How could this man just casually say that?! I mean, even if it was worded in a very archaic way, still... this man knows how to talk dirty. I let out an awkward laugh as we both proceeded down.

Breakfast was nothing short of luxurious. It was, by far, the most extravagant breakfast I have ever had in my eighteen years of living. My mouth just watered the whole time and I was able to eat plenty, probably even more that what I am supposed to. Oh well, I am pregnant after all.

Pregnancy...

It is certainly something that I had looked forward to—before when my parents died that is. I was broke and homeless before, but now I have all these resources to support my child and not let him/her suffer the consequences of my actions. I would say, though, that I did not expect to get pregnant by a man I did not know nor loved. In addition, being transported to. . . this!

"My love, are you alright?" Sebastian whispered, "You have been staring in the air for quite some time now. Perhaps, you do no like the food?"

I shook my head. "I am quite fine. I am just savoring the delicious meal."

He smiled. He so handsome godd*mit!

After the wonderful meal, I was instructed to drink really bitter medicine—or whatever that is called—which are supposedly raw veggie vitamins good for the baby. The doctor arrived shortly to examined me.

"The baby is about two to three weeks far," he said as he let go of my wrist, "have you been experiencing vomiting and nausea these days?"

I shook my head.

"That is good. However, do expect to experience these symptoms in the following weeks. Rest well, your majesty."

I smiled. "Yes, thank you for your service, doctor."

The doctor stared at me for a good one minute. Thinking I had done something wrong, I turned to Sebastian for help. However, he only smiled at me. His mind is probably preoccupied with today's check-up.

My heart started to beat fast, though it calmed down when the doctor bid goodbye to the both of us. Sebastian then hugged me and placed his hands on my belly.

"Hi, little one. It's your father speaking to you," he whispered which made me feel giddy.

He's so handsome and gentle. He's the most lovable man I have ever met. Though this kind of intimate skinship had always caught me off-guard, I appreciate that this man never forced himself on me.

I smiled. "Are you that eager to see the baby?"

He nodded excitedly. "This is our dream together, so of course."

He gently pressed his lips on my hand then to my lips, which startled me at first. He placed his hand on my cheek while the other wrapped around my waist. We shared a deep kiss, his tongue slipping in to mine. Finally, he pulled away slowly, revealing his handsome face.

"I shall restrain . . ."
