It hurt so much to discover that her father's family didn't think much of her and her mom. They already knew about their son's cheating but did not condemn it because they wanted another grandchild. They wanted a male heir. Anna was not good enough for them.
Her father's family was so much wealthier than her mother's family. Which was probably one of the reasons her mother remained silent about her father's affairs. She only tried to leave when Anna was all grown up and could take care of herself.
"What do you have to fear when the richest people in the country have also divorced? Mom and I won't need any support or compensation so you don't have to worry about your assets," Anna spoke directly. She was never interested in it in the first place. They could keep their riches all to themselves. She was fine with working hard to put food on her own plate.
