Anna embraced Lexus back. She was still terrified of what just happened. If Lexus hadn't arrived, she and their baby could have been hurt. It was such a scary thought that she ended up tearing up again.
Lexus kissed her forehead.
"After all these years, I thought that bastard had already grown up. It seems some people never change. I'm sorry you had to experience something like that. I should have been more alert," he apologized that she was exposed to danger because of him.
"It's not your fault. Who would have expected something like that? It's been so long since you were last here," Anna said and received another kiss on the forehead.
"Don't worry too much. It's bad for our baby. I won't let him come close to you ever again," he assured her and she somehow felt so much relief just from those words.
