Cailean sensed that the Alpha had escaped through the windows, and she could not sense his pulse anymore nearby. After going away from her, she could not help but sit on the floor and cry out from the fear and breaking of his word. She folded her legs and hugged them close to her and her toes curled.
The maid who was already concerned with her opened the door and was shocked at the scene that she witnessed. She quickly went to Cailean's side and closed the window that was opened.
"Did someone barge inside this room, Miss Cailean?" She asked her with an alarming and worrying tone. Without speaking, the lady reached for the maid's shoulders and hugged her, pulling her closer to her and holding her tight.
They just met an hour ago, and the maid already developed a soft spot for Cailean. She replied back with a hug and comforted her.
"Don't worry," she whispered to her, "I will do my best to catch that person who came for you."
