When the time for them to go home came, Lena helped Cailean again and guided her on their way to the exit of the school.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Lena asked Cailean while they were walking.
"I'm fine. You should stop worrying by now because you can see that I'm walking just fine." Cailean said and smiled a little.
Lena smiled as well and looked in front and saw Leikos, Cailean's grandfather from afar and said, "You're grandfather's already here. He is amazing; he is always right on time."
"Right." Cailean said and laughed a little.
Lena walked while guiding Cailean towards her grandfather.
"Thank you for guiding her again today." Leikos said with a warm voice while taking Cailean by the hand and smiled at Lena.
"It's nothing. It's like a part of me that I can't stop doing and I feel happy seeing her safe." Lena said and smiled at Leikos as well. She looked behind her and looked at the two and said, "I need to get going now, take care on your way home."
"Sure, sure. Once again, thank you." Leikos said to Lena with a wide smile on his face.
"Thank you Lena, be safe." Cailean said facing her grandfather.
Lena smiled while looking at her, she adjusted and kissed her on the cheeks and said, "I will, see you!"
Leikos looked at Cailean and her arrow at the back of her then said and asked, "Let's go. Are you okay?"
Cailean smiled and said with her hand on her grandfather's arms and asked, "Why? Does it look like something happened?"
"It does." Leikos said to her.
"I'm fine, you don't have to worry about me all the time grandpa. You should worry about yourself, don't go thinking until dawn. You should sleep at the right time." Cailean scolded her grandfather.
Leikos laughed a little at his granddaughter's fierce personality that even her grandfather was being scolded by her and said, "Okay, okay Ma'am."
Cailean laughed at her grandfather's reaction.
Leikos was helping her take a leap from a big root and when he looked at the way of their house, he saw guards surrounding it. He stopped and his grip on Cailean tightened.
Cailean felt the tension on his grandfather's grip, she naturally put her guards up and lowered down her body.
"Hide." Leikos said with a serious voice.
Cailean frowned and her face displayed her desire to ask a question.
"Hide here for now." Leikos said and guided her behind the big tree that can hide her small body really well.
"Why?" Cailean asked and tightened her grip on her grandfather as well.
Leikos looked at their house with a serious look on his face and said, "It looks like we have visitors, I need to see and greet them. Hide here and don't come out unless I tell you so."
Cailean got what her grandfather said and nodded. She put her palm on the tree and helped herself stand up and said almost whispering, "Be careful."
Leikos didn't answer and walked towards their house with careful steps.
When Cailean heard her grandfather's footsteps going away from where she was, she stood up and took her bow and arrow from her back and positioned to shoot it at any time. She took a deep breath and let her senses work, she closed her eyes to focus and her ears focused only on her grandfather's movements while being on guard in any danger that was coming their way.
Leikos looked at the guards one by one and his eyes turned to the side to see if Cailean was still hiding. He saw Alpha Conri and Beta Farkas talking to each other in front of their house.
"Leikos is here." Beta Farkas's voice can be heard from where he was.
Leikos immediately looked at them to avoid telling them where Cailean was unintentionally.
Alpha Conri stood up with a proud face and walked towards him.
Leikos bowed a little to show him respect and asked, "Greetings to the Alpha and his companions. To what I owe the Alpha for him to come to my house that is far from the palace?"
"You're a wizard, right? I think you know why I'm here." Alpha Conri said to him looking straight in his eyes.
Leikos felt nervous because of the tone and what Alpha Conri said, he laughed nervously and asked him again respectfully, "I don't think I get what you mean, please tell me what can I do for you to go here?"
Beta Farkas read Alpha Conri's face, he looked at Leikos and said abruptly, "The Alpha will take Cailean to the palace to take care of her properly and in preparation for her being our luna."
"Luna?!" Leikos voice raised in shock from what he heard from Beta Farkas.
Beta Farkas's eyebrow raised because of his reaction and nodded a little then answered, "She is the Alpha's mate. Who else should be our Luna? It's Cailean."
Alpha Conri kept on waiting and looking around behind Leikos looking for something, Leikos was about to speak but he raised his hand and looked at him then asked with a serious face, "Where's Cailean? Why isn't she coming?"
Leikos swallowed and put his hands behind him and said, "I don't know where she is and I'm sure that she will not agree with what you want to do. She's been with me ever since she was little. Why do you want to take her away from me? I raised her fine."
"Fine? Do you hear what you're saying?" Alpha Conri asked him with an annoyed voice. He looked around and pointed at the place while saying, "Look around you, it's fucking gross! And what? You want her to stay my Luna here in this garbage?"
"Maybe for you." Leikos uttered and smiled a little. He sighed and added, "This can be a garbage for all of you, but Cailean will not lik-"
"And you dare to talk back?! Who said you have the say on this? Listen old man, what the Alpha says is the only thing that matters here." Beta Farkas grabbed his collar that made him stop from talking.
Cailean heard Beta Farkas shout, she frowned and asked inside her mind, "What the hell is happening?"
She used the trees and branches that are planted beside the pathway going to their house with her bow and arrow and asked hurriedly, "What's happening? What's all of this commotion about?"
Their attention shifted to Cailean, Beta Farkas slowly let go of Leikos.
"Cailean!" Alpha Conri exclaimed in excitement but when he realised what he did he cleared his throat.
Cailean doesn't need to ask who it is even though she can't see because of his smell.
Alpha Conri walked towards her and was about to touch her but Cailean found her grandfather's hands and pulled herself towards him.
"What's happening? Are you okay?" Cailean asked and felt her grandfather's arm to see if he was hurt.
Alpha Conri was hurt by this reaction of Cailean towards him.
"I'm fine Cailean, I told you to stay there." Leikos whispered to her.
"How can I stay there when I heard the Beta shouting?" Cailean whispered back to him. She stood properly and asked, "What are you doing here?"
"Alpha Conri noticed that you're living a hard life here and he wants you to live in the palace. It will be better for you, especially in your case. You don't have to struggle in this forest."
"Case? And what do you mean by that? I grew up here and by now I'm used to living here. I don't need to live in that palace." Cailean said firmly.
Beta Farkas was about to answer her but Alpha Conri stopped him and said to Cailean, "That's right and I think you need things to change. You already know that you are my mate and I want you to live a good life."
Cailean scoffed and said, "Where? At your palace? Where you can control and imprison me every time you want? I've been there for a short time and in that short time I didn't like it there. I will stay where I am now with my grandpa. I'm sorry I can't do what you want."
Alpha Conri closed his eyes for a moment and massaged the side of his head and said, "You can live there with your grandpa if you want."
Cailean shook her head and said firmly, "Even with that condition, I don't want to live in your palace."
She walked towards the door but Alpha Conri grabbed her arm with a serious face and said with an annoyed voice, "Don't test me and my patience Cailean. I order you to live in the palace as my mate and my Luna."
Cailean pulled her arm from him and said, "Why are you so pushy? I don't want to live there and I will never want to. Is it that hard to understand?"
"You are our Luna, you will come with us. Alpha Conri only wants to give you a better life." Beta Farkas butt in.
Cailen held her head high and said confidently, "Is that so? Well then... I, Cailean Wright is rejecting Alpha Conri as my mate. From now on stop bothering me and my grandpa, don't go near me, talk to me and never step here again! I don't want to have any connection with you anymore!"
Cailean touched for her grandfather's arm and walked together inside their house and closed the door right at the Alpha's face.
Alpha Conri was stunned with the sudden rejection of Cailean, his eyes watered. He can't believe that a mere rogue had the guts to reject an Alpha like him, a royal blood. His heart is aching just by thinking that Cailean and his connection is done, its pain is unbearable but he can't let his tears fall down.
Beta Farkas looked at the Alpha's face and called him, "Alpha?"
He tapped his shoulders to make him go back to reality and asked him, "Are you okay?"
Alpha Conri looked at him and said coldly before walking out of there, "Let's go."
