This senior student was a few years older than the others and seemed more practiced and sophisticated in his actions and speech; he was also the leader of the students from Friendship University for this occasion.
He laughed heartily and said, "It's true that we'll be working as waiters, but the Embassy isn't that stingy. There's plenty of food prepared, and the guests are all distinguished individuals who hardly touch the dishes. They mostly focus on chatting with drinks in hand.
Moreover, after the first hour or so, the main guests will start to leave in succession. They are foreigners, after all, just here for the excitement. The New Year's dinner doesn't hold any special significance for them.
Once these main guests have left, everyone will be free to do as they please. Eat if you want to eat, drink if you want to drink—same goes for the Embassy's regular staff members.
