Wenger initially thought David Dain was talking nonsense. With the club being so poor, where would the money come from?
However, upon further thought, it didn't seem right. David Dain was never a man prone to joking, and he was always very serious and rigid in his actions and demeanor.
So, if he was now telling him that the club was about to come into some money, that meant there must be something he did not know.
Wenger promptly asked, "What's going on? Have we secured another bank loan, or have we landed a big sponsorship deal?"
Generally speaking, there were only two possible sources of income for a club.
David Dain, perhaps in a very good mood, unexpectedly played coy, shaking his head with a smile, "Neither, keep guessing!"
