Although Natalia and Angelina are best friends, their personalities are quite different.
Angelina is an extremely innocent girl, kind-hearted, friendly, and devoid of any radical thoughts.
She doesn't aspire to the advanced Western countries, nor does she discriminate against underdeveloped, poor countries. Her only, or biggest, dream is perhaps to see her hometown becoming better.
But Natalia is different. This girl harbors resentment towards countries outside Russia!
This includes developed countries and, indeed, including her titular "motherland", Ukraine!
Her dream, or rather her ambition, is much more significant.
This young lady seems to yearn for the revival of the glory of the Tsarist Russia Empire!
Therefore, she is enamored with power, worships powerful people, and the present Emperor is her biggest idol, without a doubt!
