After two days of "intense" rehearsal, the performance took place as scheduled.
The village could be described as "deserted," as almost everyone had set aside their farming work to come and watch the show with their families, following the promotion and call of the village government.
The village theater was bustling with people, with at least several hundred in attendance. If it hadn't been expanded, it probably couldn't have accommodated everyone.
Although they were all farmers with their "faces towards the soil and backs to the sky," everyone was orderly. The performance hadn't started yet, but smiles abounded as people chatted with each other.
