She was somewhat surprised and then replied coldly, "What do you want?"
"Come with me."
Jiang Chen pulled her to a deserted spot and quickly said, "Do me a favor."
"I won't help."
Vera answered decisively, without any hesitation.
"You said we were friends."
"You also said we weren't."
Jiang Chen had no time to bicker with this girl.
"You're acquainted with the casino, aren't you?"
He got straight to the point.
"Don't talk nonsense, how could I possibly know them?"
Vera denied it immediately.
"You don't know them, yet you can bet so accurately? And the casino hasn't kicked you out?"
Actually, when the casino staff approached him in the lobby, he had realized something was amiss, but he chose not to expose it.
"What evidence do you have? Show me the evidence." Vera was quite composed.
"I'm not here to trouble you. You help me, and you can name your condition."
