If things continued to develop in that direction, perhaps Russell might gradually become a significant character in some horror comic.
Everything changed because of his boss.
He was a tall but thin man with dark skin, yet he bore no resemblance to a Black person. He always wore a hearty smile, often mocked by Russell's roommate Ann as "combining our company's name, he always makes me think our boss is like an Outer God in human form."
The initial reason Russell was recruited... was because he was moved by his words.
Russell was not interested in making games, nor was he fascinated by the games themselves.
His understanding of games was all for making himself "interesting." Rather than viewing them as products of entertainment and leisure, he appreciated them as works of art.
But he did not consider himself an artist... nor did he need to rely on games for his soul.
"He himself" was the most interesting game.
But that was when he came into contact with that man.
