Chapter 152 - Chapter 16 Intermediary

The major difference between Mercenary Organizations and criminal organizations lies not in the smaller numbers of mercenaries or their unwillingness to support the useless... It's that mercenaries actually live by a "platform employment system".

They don't directly interact with clients; instead, they find clients through "lobbyists", or "intermediaries".

Mercenaries can't possibly know where their clients come from, or their identities—this is to prevent the extraction of intelligence detrimental to the clients should the mercenaries be captured and interrogated after a mission failure.

On the other hand, those wealthy, big clients wouldn't dare meet mercenaries alone.

These Codeless without Chips are lawless felons. It wouldn't be a surprise whatever they do... After all, becoming a mercenary is essentially a crime of "exile", and exile is equivalent to a death sentence.

So, they need reliable "intermediaries" to serve as the platform.
