"The Demon's agent...,"
Russell muttered repetitively.
From those words, he tasted an almost malevolent chill.
The Inferior glanced at Russell.
He remained silent for a moment before sighing almost imperceptibly.
He spoke quietly, "Part of the reason the Minister had you come along is to familiarize yourself with the process."
"The signature process?"
"That's right. If I ever get killed, it'll be your turn to walk this path."
The Inferior said evenly, "Then you'll be the one taking the newbies through all this.
"By the way, the person who showed me the ropes was 'Winter.'
"But I will never become a Demon—"
As he spoke, the Inferior pushed open the narrow door in front of him.
Blinding white light poured in, causing Russell to squint slightly.
Russell looked at the almost entirely "white" room and felt a touch of surprise.
