Chapter 25 - HAPPY NEWS

Sarah entered a soundproof room that contained several special tools shaped like a glass tube containing a small mattress for babies, usually called an incubator, and complete with other supporting medical equipment.

The tool serves to protect babies from bacterial infections, and noise, and keep their body temperature warm.

There are a total of 6 incubator tubes in the room, but only one contains a baby, and that baby is Sarah's baby. The little one who made Sarah's heart miss too much.

"Mrs. Sarah, have you brought milk or not?" the nurse in the room asked kindly.

"Not yet, Sister. Because I want to come here, so let me just pump the milk here while watching the little one," Sarah answered with a smile.

"Oh, like that? It's okay, no problem. You can go to the next room when you're done letting missing your little one, okay!"

"This morning the little one's papa also visited him, and it seems that lately, you two have rarely been here together, huh?" the nurse began to want to find out what she found interesting. Because it's true, seeing Ben and Sarah's interactions, even Sarah's family with the little one made the nurses happy.

Even though Sarah and Ben were considered to be a very young couple, the nurses didn't lose their care for their baby under these circumstances.

Sarah who heard such remarks from the nurse, could only smile and answer modestly without directing her opinion to other things.

"Yes, Sister. He took the time to come here early in the morning because in the afternoon there is a class schedule," Sarah answered honestly without wanting to add anything. Sarah looked away and began to look at her little prince who was sleeping peacefully.

The little hero had changed his face with a different look from the last time Sarah had seen him. Sarah's happy tears fell when she put her hand on the glass of the incubator, which happened to be her little one's tiny hand too.

"You're getting more and more like your papa, honey… Your cheeks are red like tomatoes too, kid," Sarah said quietly as if she was talking to her little son there.

Whether it's a coincidence or an emotional bond begins to react between the mother and child, the little one begins to move. His tiny body began to move to sway as if stretching his tired body that had been asleep for so long.

Sarah who saw her baby's behavior was happy, even though she couldn't touch it at all.

"Hi, mama's little champ! Wake up, honey, open your eyes," Sarah said quietly from outside the glass tube where the little one slept.

"Mommy's little hero… your mama is coming, honey. Wake up and see mama!" said Sarah to the little one in there.

As if he understood and knew who he was talking to, the little one began to change his facial expression to a calm one before blinking his little eyes.

Once, twice, and several times blinked, the little one's slanted eyes with the eyelids still wrinkled, began to appear slowly opening.

Not only that, while opening his eyes, the little one also looks rounded his lips and yawns. It was as if he had slept too long his yawning movements made his mother excited.

'Oh my God, my son is so cute. I want to hug him... Oh, God... please heal the little one so we can hug each other...' Sarah prayed in her heart while shedding tears of sadness and happiness at the same time.

Sarah wanted to hold and hug her baby, but that time had not yet come and she had to be content even though she could only see her baby in this state.

"Get well soon, honey. Mama wants to hug you and be with you," Sarah said softly as she looked at her baby's face, which opened his eyes and fell asleep again in an instant.

When Sarah began to calm down again, the baby began to stretch again and this time the little one's hands began to scratch and grabbed the small tube that was connected to his mouth.

"Geez, honey. What are you doing?" Sarah looked worried but more than that she was happy to see her baby's cute behavior, "Mama will call the nurse first, okay?" Sarah continued and immediately turned around.

However, before Sarah left the room, Doctor Archie and a woman the same age as her mother whom Sarah knew was a pediatrician who treated the little one, entered the room quietly.

"Doctor Rani, I just wanted to call the nurse. The little one's drinking tube came loose, he pulled it earlier," Sarah informed.

"Oh, that's fine. Indeed, the drinking tube will be removed soon. Let your little one start learning to drink from the source," the pediatrician said, smiling at Sarah.

Sarah and Doctor Archie watched the pediatrician open the incubator lid to release the little one's drinking tube, and finally, the little one looked more relieved and free and after that, the incubator lid was closed again.

"Are you satisfied with letting go of your longing for your little one? If so, let's come to my room, okay!" the female doctor spoke kindly to Sarah.

The confused Sarah immediately turned to Doctor Archie beside her. However, Doctor Archie only showed a face that held back a smile as he lifted his shoulders as a sign that he didn't know anything, like Sarah.

Sarah complied and followed the doctors behind them. But, before leaving the special room, Sarah smiled as she turned to the little one who was already sleeping peacefully.

'Mama come home, son! Tomorrow mama will come again to see you, huh? Get well soon, my dear. Mama loves you, son!' Sarah said goodbye to the little one from the bottom of her heart.

Now Sarah is in the pediatrician's room with Doctor Archie who continues to accompany her like a brother to Sarah.

"Actually I've been waiting a few days to meet you, Mrs. Sarah, but I know because your physical condition is not yet allowed to travel far, so I keep waiting, and finally we meet today, huh?" the female doctor spoke kindly to Sarah.

"What's the matter, Doctor? Is the little one's condition or development declining, Doctor? I'm scared," Sarah asked anxiously.

"There's no problem, Mom. Your baby is healthy and all of your little one's development shows good growth graphics. His weight is also almost normal. So, don't be afraid to overdo it, hahaha!" the doctor answered with a laugh.

Without answering and only intending to listen to what the doctor had to say carefully, Sarah just nodded her head weakly.

"Don't be afraid, Sarah. What Doctor Rani wants to convey now is good news, you know! Take it easy and don't panic, okay?" Doctor Archie again calmed Sarah who seemed to have started to worry.

"Yes, that's right. I just wanted to give Mrs. Sarah some good news about the baby's condition," continued the pediatrician.

"I want to inform you that the development of your little one shows rapid progress. Starting from good weight gain and the development of important organs in his body also looks normal,"

"The little one has been treated here for more than a month, and because his development is good, starting today the tube that drains the fluid will be removed, and previously the small tubes that support his health have also been removed one by one. All this is so that the little one begins to adapt to important organs on his own body."

"Hopefully in two to four weeks, the little one can go home,"

With a friendly smile, the female doctor named Doctor Rani conveyed the happy news to Sarah.

Sarah's tears fell because she was moved to hear the news. Sarah covered her face with clasped hands as she gave endless thanks.

"Can my child go home?" Sarah asked to confirm the news she had heard, and Doctor Rani nodded.

"Doctor, thank you very much. Thank you for taking care of the little one until today, Doctor," continued Sarah, giving thanks and thanking Doctor Rani who continued to pay attention to the development of her baby.

"It must be a relief, right? Finally, the little one will soon be able to go home. So, the little one can gather with his mother and family at home," Doctor Rani said and shared Sarah's joy at this time.

"Wait, but make no mistake, Mom. There is still homework that parents need to do when the baby comes home later, yes! And this is what I want to talk to you about now," Doctor Rani continued her sentence and began to enter a severe face to tell Sarah.

"The parents have not finished their duties when the child has returned from the hospital, because we still have a lot of homework to do in terms of taking care of the little one. So, don't be satisfied when the baby is allowed to go home. This premature baby must be stimulated continuously," said the doctor. Rani.
