"W-where am I?" Kanzaki said out loud in confusion when he suddenly woke up. The last thing he remembered was a weird voice coming out of nowhere behind him and spraying him with something. Soon after, he fell asleep and he ended up wherever he was.
"Oh, you're finally awake? It's about time sleepy head." A female voice said near Kanzaki. When he heard that he shot up from his position sitting upward and began looking around the room. Once he was sitting up and his eyes could actually see what he was looking at he realized he was in Selena's living room!
In fact, Selena was nearby in the kitchen and seemed to be cooking some kind of meal that smelled delicious. However, Kanzaki didn't feel like worrying about the meal since the night before seemed really strange. He was even beginning to wonder if she was the one that sprayed him with whatever it was.
"What happened last night?" Kanzaki asked in confusion wondering what Selena would say about it. Kanzaki would have thought it was still night if he didn't see the sun rising from the porch window.
When Selena heard the question she paused for a second as she turned off a few of the kitchen items before turning toward him, "You mean when I went in my room and when I came back you were asleep on the couch?" Selena asked chuckling to herself as if the situation was more than funny to her.
'What?!' Kanzaki thought in confusion. He didn't remember even sitting on the couch the night before. He had walked over to the couch one time just to look around the living room but besides that, he had no connection with it.
"What are you talking about? I went into your room last night looking for you. I even called out to you and you answered." Kanzaki said not agreeing with what Selena was saying at all. Everything he felt and saw was very real and he didn't understand why she was acting that way.
"What do you mean? I was only in there for a few minutes and you never even came to the door of my room. I even have cameras installed in here if you want to check them." Selena said dropping a bomb that he didn't expect. The cameras she spoke of should prove what he was talking about, or so he thought.
"Yeah, I would like to check them if you don't mind I just feel a little strange." Kanzaki said as he sat up from the couch. He didn't act crazy or irrationally since he trusted Selena and didn't even see the face of the individual in her room. The situation was super bizarre and he didn't know what to think quite yet. She had been with him through the whole Landon situation so he didn't expect her to do anything similar.
Selena had a slight smile on her face that wasn't visible to Kanzaki as she led him to a side closet in her living room. It was a door he had never seen opened before and it surprised him that once they looked inside there was a large computer screen hooked to a plethora of different wires that seemed to go all over the house.
'This seems a bit extreme.' Kanzaki thought in surprise as he looked at the computer. There were too many wires for him to count and in fact, there were even more wires in this one computer than his entire streaming setup.
However, even though Kanzaki was confused by the intense amount of wires Selena felt right at home as she began typing away at the keyboard pulling up different files and sorting through different pieces of code that Kanzaki didn't understand. Within a few moments, a camera feed appeared on the screen showing when Kanzaki first appeared at the door of Selena's house.
When Kanzaki saw this footage he was surprised at first because he had no idea there was a camera. Just to be sure he walked over to where he thought the camera was and sure enough there was a little black dot sitting in the ceiling looking down toward the entrance of the apartment.
"I didn't see that at all!" Kanzaki said in shock when he finally saw the camera. It wasn't your everyday camera that was obvious like the ones in school or other places. This was a camera that was meant to be hidden and wouldn't be seen unless someone knew about it.
"It's not meant to be seen. This is my home security after all. You know how Landon was to me and I never want something like that again. If anything, there will be proof if someone ever tries to do something toward me." Selena said with a sad tone which made Kanzaki frown. He was starting to regret asking her about the cameras and pulling the feed up since he knew about how much she went through. It was so much that even he didn't want to think about it.
"Sorry about that. I shouldn't have brought it up." Kanzaki said awkwardly. He knew that things such as this were a touchy subject for Selena and when he realized he had dove head first into it he felt bad and wanted to get out of the situation he had created as soon as possible.
"Don't worry about a thing. The last thing I want is for you not to trust me so I will show you anything you want to see." Selena said with a wink before turning back to the computer and continuing to type on it.
*Badump Badump*
Kanzaki's face went a little red when he heard Selena talk like that. He had never heard someone talk to him that way before since the only person he dated, Fria, had always seemed distant and like she could care less about him. Even his parents could care less about what he thought or felt about a situation as long as he did what he was told.
