"A place to stay? No, I haven't gotten that far yet but I'm sure there are some motels somewhere with a decent amount of rooms open. At least until tomorrow when I get my apartment back." Kanzaki said thinking about what he was going to do for the night for the first time.
There were many ways he could go about finding somewhere to sleep but the simplest idea in his mind was to find a motel that was cheaper and stay there for the night. The police told him that they would have his apartment cleared out by noon the next day so there was no need for him to look for a permanent state of residence somewhere else.
When Selena heard this there was a weird glint in her eyes that wasn't able to be seen by Kanzaki, "Is that so? Well instead of spending more money how about you take one of the apartments on the highest floor?" Selena offered with a smile on her face.
When Selena said the highest floor Kanzaki's mind went blank. The most popular thing about the apartment that Kanzaki lived in wasn't the gym or the fact that most of the apartments were quite nice but instead the highest floor. On that floor, there were a few rooms that rivaled those of the apartment Selena lived in with Landon.
"Are you sure? Won't that be too much since my rent is even less than half of what it cost to stay in those for one night? Plus I'm sure you have them booked up right now." Kanzaki said expressing his doubts about going to one of those rooms.
It sounded great in his head but in reality, there was no true reason to let him stay in such an amazing place especially when there might be people already staying in them. However, Selena wasn't taking no for an answer and quickly countered Kanzaki's claim.
"It's fine no need to worry. Two of the rooms I've been leaving unoccupied just in case of a rainy day and here we are. I will be taking one and you can have the other. You better take it or you will make me sad." Selena said with a serious face before teasing him at the end.
When Kanzaki heard her teasing he was left in a slight state of shock but he knew she was serious about him taking the room. After a moment of thinking about it, Kanzaki decided that there was no reason to refuse her offer since the room was very nice, even better than his previous one.
It was like someone offering you a million dollars but refusing it since it would trouble them to pay the ten-dollar transaction fee, "Fine I will take your offer then. Thank you very much and I will repay you with dinner at some point." Kanzaki said with a smile.
When Selena heard Kanzaki accept her offer she was already more than excited but when she heard that Kanzaki would even cook her dinner on top of that she was ecstatic, "I will be looking forward to it then! Let me show you to your room." Selena said before leading Kanzaki to a room on the first floor of the apartment.
The room that Selena led Kanzaki to was actually the same room where Landon had watched Kanzaki on the security cameras to find out where he lived. In this room, there were many things including the keys to every apartment in the building.
The only reason Landon had access in the first place was due to the fact he stole a key card from Selena's bag when she wasn't paying attention. He had been using this key card since he started abducting people there but Selena never caught on since she thought she might have just lost it.
"Here's the key. Since I'm going up there anyway I will follow you." Selena said as she handed the key over to Kanzaki. Once Kanzaki had the key in his hands he thanked her once more and made his way to the highest floor in the building with Selena.
One new thing that Selena had that Kanzaki had never seen before was a small black handbag. She had taken it out of a safe in the security room which even Landon didn't know the code to. Landon had tried multiple times to get inside because he was curious but he had no luck with this so the contents of the bag were a mystery.
As Selena and Kanzaki were making their way up the elevator Selena kept taking glances at Kanzaki while he was also doing the same. They had many thoughts and emotions in their mind but not one specific one would come out to start a conversation.
After more than half the elevator ride in silence, Kanzaki finally broke the ice, "I'm glad that he's no longer going to be a bother for you but what do you plan on doing now?" Kanzaki asked trying to make some small talk with Selena.
Selena thought for a moment before answering his question, "Well I have many things that I've been working on but only time will tell if they end up working out or not. Until then I will probably just keep running the apartment and other things." Selena said honestly but still sounding mysterious at the same time.
She held back a little bit of information since some of those things involved Kanzaki and she didn't want him to know about it yet. He wasn't officially hers and until then she would keep some of her advances a secret.
'I have waited my entire life to feel happiness like this so waiting a little longer for love won't bother me.' Selena thought putting a wide smile on her face which also made Kanzaki smile.
"I see, well if you even need help with any of it you can call me anytime. I will do my best to support you with everything I have." Kanzaki said back leaving Selena slightly stunned. Kanzaki wasn't trying to be flirtatious on purpose but instead was saying his true thoughts on the matter.
