Selena had to turn her face away after Kanzaki whispered in her ear since her face had turned completely red. She was embarrassed by the gesture since she had never had someone do something like that before.
It was a strange feeling to her but it wasn't bad for someone to be close like that whom you admire. It was a feeling that made her desire for more slowly grow and the cloud of obsession above her slowly expand.
Kanzaki, on the other hand, thought she was struggling not to laugh so he felt even more embarrassed when he said it, "Sorry if it's not something like you were expecting but I truly like it. It has been an absolute dream job that I enjoy a lot." Kanzaki said telling the truth about how he felt about it.
Even though he was embarrassed he refused to make fun of his job or say it was less than anything else. He felt that it was amazing and it was important to him so he wanted to treat it with respect and could only hope that others would reciprocate and do the same.
When Selena heard that Kanzaki thought she was making fun of his job she quickly turned around trying to correct her mistake but she was so rushed to try and make sure nothing bad happened with Kanzaki that she fell on the treadmill and flew backward.
There were many people in the room that saw her fall but they didn't have time to get to her. The fall would have been simple and she would have just gotten a bruise if not for the fact that she was falling headfirst.
If her head were to hit the ground at the speed she was going at then it would crack her skull open killing her instantly. Lucky enough for her Kanzaki saw this in time and quickly rushed off his own treadmill placing out his arms and catching her like at the end of a salsa dance.
"Are you ok?!" Kanzaki asked worried if something might have hit her head on the way down. However, as he looked all over her she seemed to be fine so he quickly helped sit her up. Some of the other guys and girls in the gym came over and cheered for him patting him on the back and saying a good job for catching her while Selena's mind was completely blank.
After the crowd walked away and continued with their workout Kanzaki saw Selena in her blank state still and waved his hand in front of her, "Hey, Are you alright?" Kanzaki said as he waved his hand in front of her eyes.
When Selena finally came to and saw what Kanzaki was doing she slightly smiled, "Thanks for catching me." Selena said going back to normal.
"Don't worry about it I didn't want you to get hurt or something." Kanzaki said with a sigh as he finally knew that she was alright. He thought something may have happened with her brain since she had gone blank and stopped talking but she seemed to be alright.
When Selena heard his words she couldn't help but let her smile grow even further, "Do you have time to keep running?" Selena asked curiously.
When Kanzaki heard what Selena said he was dumbfounded, "You still want to run even after that?" Kanzaki asked in confusion. He hadn't expected her to actually want to go back. If it were him then he probably would have taken a week off since it would have freaked him out.
"Of course! Your job sounds interesting and you haven't finished explaining it yet." Selena said with a smile. When Kanzaki heard this it was his turn to go blank but before long a smile appeared on his face as well making him get back on the treadmill.
"I think I do have a while before I have to go back then." Kanzaki said with a smile as he began telling Selena all about V-Tubing. He started off by telling her how he started and slowly began making his way down the line of how he got to where he was.
At the parts where Selena was mentioned she held her breath thinking that he might say something bad about her and that all his thanks and messages were all a lie but surprisingly that never came. In fact his compliments and good words he said about her only increased in person which made a very happy feeling appear in her chest.
She felt validated and appreciated by someone which was something that she had only felt from Kanzaki since she met him. To her, it was an addicting feeling that she never wanted to let go of and would cherish until she died, and even then her soul would appreciate every word.
Despite how much Selena was enjoying the compliments aimed at her without Kanzaki knowing, she had also become very interested in the things she had no idea about such as the V-Tuber model. Different stories about how Kanzaki ended V-Tubing were very interesting to her and it made lots of the blanks in his streaming become very clear.
As Kanzaki and Selena were talking about his job she suddenly decided to ask him more about something she was curious about, "How is it going with your girlfriend?" Selena asked curiously while running.
She acted like she didn't really care about the subject but in actuality, it was the thing she surprisingly felt herself the most interested in. She didn't know why but at this part she listened very closely to each and every word he might say.
"We broke up." Kanzaki said with visible sadness in his voice. He didn't really want to talk about it but he didn't mind telling others that he was no longer with her. It made it easier for him to move on with his life.
When Selena heard what he said she had never thought three words would make her feel so happy.
