"You're really scared off of this alone?" I asked, seeing the completely ashen face of Zatanna, "You're a demon. You're going to be doing let alone seeing a lot more fucked up things than this."
Zatanna gained control of herself quicker than I expected and looked at me, "This...This doesn't bother you?"
I shook my head, "Why would this even both me? These aren't my kids, fuck them, kids." I spat. I saw a lot worse in my past life as the Immortal Asura.
Actually thinking back on my past life all I did was kill. I'm surprised that none of the Princes and Kings of Hell didn't come to approach me and take me as their disciple but looking back at it I wasn't that much of a significant player in the Fourth Heaven. In fact, I was an ant pretty much. My bloodline wasn't anything special and I was just a human, I wasn't even a High Human yet looking back I feel like something was blocking my ascension.
But that wasn't important now, what was important was the current events going on in front of me right now.
"You truly are a monster," Zatanna muttered.
"And you're not?" I chuckled in mockery, "I can only guess that you're a newly awakened demon so the effects are slowly progressing but eventually you'll stop thinking the way you do and begin committing atrocities as easy as breathing to you. Shit, you might even get aroused off the horrific acts you commit based on what kind of demon you've turned into"
Seeing the pale face of Zatanna in the realization of what she was becoming I brought her head back into the game, "But you already should've expected that coming didn't you? You're far older than me and should have more knowledge about Demons and Devils than yours truly. So please drop the act, I have no idea who you're fooling but it's not me."
Realizing that I wasn't falling for her bullshit mask, Zatanna dropped all games and revealed the cruel and demonic smile that I knew was hiding deep within her the whole time, "You're no fun now are you?"
"Agreed, it seems that you are no fun Hakari," A cold, fiendish voice echoed from the void.
The glacial intent and malice festered deep into my soul, causing my killing intent to burst out seemingly by itself due to how uncomfortable the intent made me feel.
Zatanna backed away from me so fast you would think she expected such a creation from me but it was clear from her withering flesh and mortified expression that she didn't.
Looking towards the middle of the room where a tall pale skin handsome man was standing in the middle of the pentagram. He was wearing dark armor that was littered with infernal runes. He had blood-red hair and crimson eyes that shined with the flames straight from the Nine Hells, I could hear the screams of his victims, the beings that he'd killed, and the damned souls that he had governed in the Hells.
But none of that was what scared me, what had me stuck on my feet was the name of the being that was in front of me. The name that I didn't have to ask for since I already knew what it was.
"Demon Lord, Argares," I repeated the name that echoed deep into my soul as soon as I laid eyes on the man.
Argares narrowed his eyes and smiled, "I'm truly honored to know that the Asuran Prince knows my name"
The fuck?! How?!
Argares is part of the 72 Pillars and he's close to the top of the damn list. But what makes it worse is that he's a demon, a demon near the top of the 72 Pillars dominated by mostly devils was insane. For a demon to be ranked among them they had to be Demon Lords at the bare minimum and Demon Lords were at the same level as a King of Hell but Argares was a different story.
Based on my inherent knowledge Aragres ranks among the top ten among the pillars, if we exclude the devils from that list and only include demons he's among the top three. But what I still can't understand is why he's here at this time.
"You can stop trying to think so hard Hakari. You won't get the answer anytime soon." He said as he began to walk toward me.
"So all this is your work?" I asked and pointed to the horrid massacre that could be seen around the entire room.
But to my surprise, Argares shook his head, "No. I'm just as confused as you are as to who caused such a scene. I'm actually impressed, I want to meet such a person."
"You're fucking sick in the head!" Howled the voice of Zatanna.
I and Argares both turned out heads and gave her such piercing gazes that she cowered back in fear. She knew her place.
Argares turned his gaze back at me, "This your bitch?"
"Nah," I denied.
Before I could even react Argares appeared before Zatanna and snapped his finger.
Before she could even react the light in Zatanna's eyes faded and her eyes rolled back as she slumped over to the ground unconscious.
Argares caught her fall and looked at her incapacitated form with a smile on his face.
"She's strong. For a newly turned demon, I guess. I wonder who turned her, you wouldn't happen to know who did do you?" He asked with a sinful smile.
Feeling true fear for the first time I wondered if I should tell him the truth.
Fighting Argares was pure stupidity. Even though this wasn't his true body that was here and merely a clone, he was clearly in the high levels of godhood. Even with all my broken advantages as an Abyssal, it would be of no use, the best I could do was make my defeat slightly less embarrassing.
Realizing that there was no way I could get out of this I decided to throw all points of scheming out the window and just take this risk. After all, what is life without risks?
"No." I denied and my instincts screamed in fear at the feeling of inventible death the quickly began to consume me.
