"Son, before I get into the realms of cultivation I want to get the basics out for you so you can have the best possible foundation." My father said as we sat in his study. It was finally time for me to learn about cultivation in this world. I didn't know much, but I knew it was different due to the few times I heard a realm get mentioned they were all names that I have never heard of before.
"As you may or may not know due to how devoted you were to learning, to get stronger we absorb the energy in the air and we use it to make ourselves stronger. We call this mysterious energy, Arcana.
Arcana?
I know that is just another word for qi but the word Arcana has always been connected to a realm that was said to be the home of elements and that all laws and elements bend to their will. I fought people from that plane in the past and they were all very strong. The chances of me being born in that realm could be said to be decent but the from what I have seen from their technology and the fact that they use the world arcana, all of this tells me that the world of genesis has reached an extremely high level of arcana and technology so the realm I'm in can't be that unless the era I was born into was so far from my past.
"The first stage of cultivation, body tempering is where we temper our body so we can absorb arcana. To do this you use body tempering arts, they do the same thing but there are some differences, when we are done here I will take you to the library for you to choose your arte, but remember to be careful you can only use one art and based on your success using it will determine your foundation and with that your future in cultivation."
"After you complete body tempering you will officially start mortal cultivation and start by going through the stage of mortal transformation. The realms in mortal transformation are Arcana Condensation, Core Formation, Nascent Soul, and finally Heavenly Transformation. There are of course more realms but this is all you will need for now."
Hearing all this info I nodded my head as this was all completely new information to me. Especially the new stages and realms. Back then everything before godhood was considered mortal cultivation but the stages they have for specific realms now are even more shocking. Serious progress must've been made or the realm that I am in is head and shoulders above the rest. I really wanted to ask my father about the realm we are in but that would be suspicious, so I kept my mouth shut for now and just listened. There would be time for those questions later.
"Do you have any questions?" My father asked staring at me with a smile with the look of teaching a junior his first steps into the real world I could feel the pride within his gaze.
"I don't have any right now but I will probably have some when we get to the library to pick an arte," I replied.
"Alright then let's go." My father said and before I could even realize what happened he teleported behind me, picked me up, and placed me on his shoulders as we headed to the library.
When we reached the library, my father put me down as we walked words the librarian, Zavier Kenji who I had a great relationship due to me being a frequent visitor of the library.
"Master Zavier" My father said as he bowed and I followed after greeting him, a surprising fact of the Kenji house was that Zavier was actually my father's master which made me even more apprehensive of him. For my father as strong as he is to still kneel and treat him with such reverence makes me believe that even with all that training and mentoring Elder Zavier was still stronger than my father.
"Bashar, you still kneel towards me even at your position of power no matter how many I tell you it is no longer necessary." Zavier said with a helpless expression on his face
"Nevermind we will talk about it later, tell me what did you bring little Kari here for?" He said with a doting expression on his face while I inwardly cringed. Little Kari was my nickname around the household.
"I'm taking him to pick a body tempering arte, he will start his cultivation today." My father said with pride in his eyes as he looked at me.
"Are you sure? He is only 5 after all, you will be making him start 2 years early." Zavier said with obvious worry after all only super geniuses would actually attempt cultivation at this early of an age. But the amount of people who actually went through with it could be counted on one hand.
"I am sure master, Hakari himself said that he could handle it and I 100 percent believe him, he is my son after all."
"Alright if you are so sure I will agree with you, you already know where to go." Zavier said and before and after disappearing I heard his voice in my mind for only me to hear "Good luck Hakari."
After walking all the way to a hidden section of the Library that I had never seen before, my father pricked his finger with arcana and used his blood to inscribe runes in the air which caused the shelves to split and open to reveal a new and even larger shelf full of scrolls and books which were all body tempering rates
"Here are the all the artes in the household in front of you Hakari, choose the one you think is best for you and remember while there some differences they all do the same thing so choose the one that is best for you, when you are done come back to the front and we will determine your affinity to the elements and your weapon." My father said as he walked back to the front
After about 10 minutes I realized that father was right and while there are some that are different they all do the same thing, but from my experience it was really never about the power of an arte but how well you could preform it, so it didn't take a while for me to find the ones that would work for me so while I picked the ones that would work for me, I was stuck on these three.
