It must be because of the poison the demon dog's saliva contained, or maybe because it was the time for her to meet her end.
Akila closed her eyes as her weapon dropped to the ground and although it was complete silence around her, she didn't hear it clank.
She turned around and found everyone stopped fighting, and they were watching her with big, round eyes.
She threw her head back and chuckled humorlessly, then she screamed.
She screamed as she called her lover's name. She screamed, feeling her heart shatter into a million pieces.
