Chapter 20 - Tears of Blood

Princess Valentina lowered her head to hide her dark face and the viciousness in her eyes. No one knew what was she thinking, but Rosella felt a dark red aura emanating from her.

After the first dance, the rest of the guests asked their partners to dance.

Laugh, murmurs, snickers, music, and more noises filled the hall.

A few hours later, the banquet ended.

All the guests returned to their allocated chambers to rest.

As the host, the Cullen siblings did not utter a single word to each other.

Elmira saw them retiring in different directions. And her vicious eyes followed Rosella.

"Don't think you can take away my man. I'll teach you to, don't mess with me and my future. I'm bound to become the Queen." Gritting her teeth, Elmira muttered with hate, after that she turned around and left.

Darkness engulfed the palace surroundings, besides some torches moving. Indicating the knight's patrolling at night.

.****.

Tree trunks, the place it's like a dead end. There is no moon light, only darkness. In the middle of the woods, a green light covered a lady laying down, her hasty breathing, making her chest move up and down faster and faster.

From the distance, it looked like she was resting with her eye open, and as if death had nothing to do with her.

But the closer to her body, the closer would anyone discover her resting in a pool of blood, her mutilated face with slashes so deep you could see the facial bones. She did not have a threat of hair in her head. Missing her lips, only leaving her teeth exposed, and missing one of her eyes. The dullness in her remaining sky-blue eye still had a gleam of hope, as if she was waiting for a miracle or something.

Her before white dress now is covered with her own blood, some parts are drying from the cold wind of the night, her arms, and legs dislocated, each limb with its bones broken in half.

She knew she would not last long, but she continues to hold on to her last breath.

The green light did not allow her to see beyond her place, but even if the sight is obstructed, the lady's hearing was magnified.

Several sounds echoed in the darkness, the wind slipped through the leaves, the fluster of some wings.

The night animals, make a way in the deep in the woods, some owl sounds, and other animals squeaking in the distance.

The rich earth, rotting leaves, pine needles, fresh air, and a slight scent of flowers covered her iron bloody smell.

At this moment, she hears faster footsteps coming toward her, like the person was running in her way. She focuses her sight on a certain place, where the footsteps echoed, just to see who it was. If it was the person, she had been waiting for…

After a minute, that she felt an eternity, a man with a cold and strong aura, with dark robes can give scary vibes to anyone. Even though his facial features could not be seen from afar, she knew who he is.

The lady saw his silhouette and felt a surge of joy in her heart, and only her eyes could express it.

"Y… ou ca… me."

In spite of her condition, she could still speak, with shallow gasps and stuttering, but the man who came, the closer he got to her the closer she could see him. As he came closer, she only breathed a sigh of relief.

The lady's breathing changed to a steady. Her remaining eye with a serene, peaceful look, but deep inside she felt injustice.

The man approached and observed her state, he could not bear to see her like that. He just knelt down and carefully lifted her up and put her in his embrace, the shoulder was touched, and the flesh was open and bleeding.

His misty purple eyes filled with crystal tears. But the pain was so strong, that those crystal tears turned crimson red tears.

He could not speak, because of the tears, the agony of seeing her like that, and the fact that he did not know what to say the only thing that could come out of his mouth was a simple sentence. However, the words contained all his feelings, love, longing, despair, pain, and inability.

"I'm sorry, my love, I came late. Please don't leave me, I love you "

At a closer look, the man saw her in detail.

The left half of the lady's face was covered in blood, her sky-blue eye was swollen, and tears flow from it.

There are also a lot of scratches on the body, some are very deep, and some are shallow, but they are also bloodstains. But because of the blood, not everything can be seen, at simple sight. Like the robe on her neck.

The man shocked untied the rope net and tore off a piece of cloth to tie the lady's stomach bleeding tightly.

"My love, please!"

The lady sighed lightly, full of melancholy in her heart, but no words could express it. She didn't have the energy to continue clinging to her life.

He knew the selfishness of his plea because if the lady survived, she would end up being a cripple. Only able to move her head, because he noticed that her back and neck were full of blade marks, and at first glance, it was obvious that the marks were from a rustic, eroded blade.

She only looked into his eyes, those beautiful eyes that she could not help following anywhere, and with a painful smile in her eyes reflected everything she wanted to tell him, but she wanted to express it in words.

"Being able to rest in your embrace is the most wonderful feeling I had in my entire life.

Being able to tell you how much I love you on my deathbed is my worst remorse.

I have no words for a farewell.

If there is a next life, I'll give you my everything, love you, pamper you, seduce you, and give you many children. That will be my dream!"

The woman's sky-blue eye, in the pool of her blood, turned fiery. But in the end, she closed her remaining eye to the eternal slumber with a smile on her face, happy to die in the arms of her beloved man.

The man with a black coat who had her in his embrace was crying like there was no tomorrow. He took her body tightly, he was afraid to lose her body, like she'll have not a place to return.

He said, "My dear, let's go home. Let's go together."

There was a deep and ruthless look in the man's eyes. Making his purple eyes shine under the green light.
