"...They are mine."
Anna and the other women could only look at the Zombie as both his cloak and robes slightly waved with the wind. The four of them would've already probably gone back into position under any other circumstances– but now, something didn't feel right.
If any of them was the one just standing in front of the werewolf, then they would have already been smacked and clawed by the beast. But in front of the stranger, the werewolf seemed… a little strange.
One might even think it was slowly retreating.
Could it be that the weirdly dressed stranger… was actually a High-Rank slayer?
Now that they had time to think, that was the only conclusion that made sense. After all, the first time they met the Zombie, he was about to pop the Bubble without even any care right in front of his face.
"We… we lucked out," Sandie, who was still slightly bleeding from almost having her breasts chopped off, could not help but let out a small chuckle as she tried to get up, "This would have been our funeral."
"No," Anna shook her head, "We risked our lives to clear this Bubble, we can't let him take all the merit. You guys stay here and protect Sandie."
"Anna, wait! Just–"
But before any of the three could stop their friend, Anna already walked away and rushed beside the Zombie,
"I'll help you," Anna then said as flames once again wrapped around her arms like a blade, "You can have half the materials we get. But–"
And before Anna could even finish her words, the werewolf suddenly rushed towards her; its sharp claws, already threatening to mangle her face apart.
"Fuck!" Anna was able to leap back even from the sudden attack– it didn't matter, however, as the werewolf did not stop waving its claws towards her.
"What the hell!?" Anna just decided to turn around and run with all her might instead of thinking of counterattacking, "Why is it only after me!?"
She was right. The werewolf was completely ignoring the Zombie, not even bothering to look at him as he too, gave chase.
"Should… we help?"
Sandie, Gab, and Isa once again looked at each other as they watched the weird scene unfold in front of them. Anna running and being chased by the werewolf; while the stranger was chasing the werewolf; going around in circles like some sort of train.
Isa was about to summon sparks on her hands again, but before she could do so, a high-pitched howl suddenly whimpered in the air. They all looked, only to see a halberd now sticking into one of the werewolf's legs.
The Zombie didn't waste any time; he rushed towards the werewolf and quickly pulled the halberd; forcefully waving it around that it almost sliced off the werewolf's thick flesh and hide there and then.
And finally, the werewolf turned its nose toward the Zombie.
Anna didn't let this chance go, as she once again summoned her flaming blades, leaping towards the distracted werewolf as she stretched her arms to the side.
"Die!" She screamed– another mistake, as the werewolf quickly turned towards her and caught her by the neck mid-air.
"K… khh…"
And from a roar, a struggling gasp replaced everything else that was coming out of Anna's mouth.
Fortunately for her, the Zombie also took this chance to completely dismember the beast's leg, hacking at it a couple of times before the bones finally fractured in half.
The blood, spraying everywhere; eventually also squirting straight on the Zombie's mouth. And without being absorbed by his taste buds, the Zombie could feel its entire body tremble almost in delight.
It was trying its best not to let out a roar– but alas, instinct once again took over as he opened his mouth.
Releasing a roar that no man or beast should be capable of. The Zombie then took its halberd and once again used it to spear the werewolf, this time, towards its arm that was still stretched from grabbing Anna.
"Grah!"
The werewolf also roared as its arm was pinned to the ground– not before, however, it was able to swing its other arm towards the Zombie, causing him to almost fly before violently rolling on the ground several times…
…causing the red robe he was wearing to be flung away, leaving the skin on his arm exposed.
And this arm… was clearly broken and mangled from having blocked the werewolf's attack.
But before any of the girls could react, the Zombie already rushed back toward the werewolf. It was about to pull the halberd to set itself free, but the Zombie was able to get behind it before it could even touch the shaft.
It once again waved its free hand, and this… the Zombie also swung his hand– his nails, digging through and almost grating the werewolf's thick hide.
And once again, the Zombie roared as it almost planted itself on the werewolf's back– his sharp nails– no. His sharp nails, tearing the beast's back open bit by bit.
"W… what the fuck?" Anna was elated by the fact that she was saved; but right now, she finds herself slowly and carefully backing away from the two.
She had a glimpse of how high rankers battle before…
…This wasn't it.
High rankers would leave you petrified in awe with the way they fight– with terrains and buildings being torn apart like they were cardboard. Sure, Anna was still left petrified now… but it was because of fear.
How… is this even a human? Anna thought as her legs were finally able to move; rushing towards the others without even a second thought. She had already recovered from her stupor, but it seems her companions had not as they stared at the stranger still.
But how could they not, when he was tearing the werewolf apart with his bare hands?
Unbeknownst to them, however… the Zombie was actually also devouring the werewolf. Lucky for him, even frenzied, he was able to block the women's view as pieces of the struggling werewolf entered his mouth.
Anna and the others continued to watch– more than a minute of horror as the Zombie just continued to flay the werewolf's back, until finally… it struggled no more.
They thought it was over, the four were about to approach as they assisted Sandie up; but before they could even take a single step, the Zombie once again began hacking away– not stopping until the organs of the werewolf were flying left to right.
But finally, after a few more of these violent outbursts, the Zombie finally stopped as he got up from the werewolf– his hands, completely red with blood… trailing on the ground as he very slowly made his way towards the four.
"T… thank you for saving us."
And while three of them wanted to take a step back, Sandie mustered up the courage to step forward; hopping on one leg because of her wound, causing her finely sized bosoms to bounce,
"If it wasn't for you… then we would have all probably died. Thank–"
And before Sandie could finish her words…
…a strong suddenly gust in the air, causing the hood of the Zombie's cloak…
…to unfold.
"!!!"
