Chapter 3
"Come sit here". He patted his thighs.
Dipti looked here and there, but didn't find any extra chair or table to sit.
"Sir but there is not any chair for me to sit". She replied innocently.
"Aww, you don't need any chair darling your small butt will fit on my thighs so don't waste our time and come here." He pulled her towards him and tried to lift her by her waist so he can make her sit over his lap.
'You are so interested in asking a girl sit on your lap. I'll sit there." Saying this she sat on his lap and the boy smiled. Dipti's eyes went wide it's not like she haven't seen this kind of scene before she has, but she couldn't believe her friend can do something like this. Next second boy's screams filled in the whole canteen as Tripti poked a fork on his side thighs.
"Get up you bitch". He tried to push her but she didn't buzzed instead she again poked.
''Enjoying.., aren't we? Who else wants to make my Dipti sit on their lap? Anyone???" she asked pointing fork at others.
"Tripti don't do this. Look his thighs are injured. It's bleeding.., please get up". Dipti requested to her.
''No, He deserves it" She again poked his thigh with fork.
"Please for me Tripti. You know i can't see this please". She said crying.
''Hey dips don't cry for them. That bastard deserved all of this and you.., you should be thankful to her if it wasn't about her tears i wouldn't have stood up before cutting your leg. So you better not try anything like this again." she warned him.
That boy apologise to Dipti and girls glared at Dipti and Tripti.
Soon they left college.
''Ok bye take care." She dropped Dipti in front of kundra mansion and left. Dipti went to her house. She got freshen up and then prepared lunch for herself and Sahil after that she went to kundra mansion.
She prepared lunch for all and then she asked a maid to call everyone as they were in their room. Then everyone had their lunch together and again went to their room as it was time for afternoon nap.
"Dipti please can you tell watchman uncle that i have prepared a package of my clothes and other things. So he can take it and distribute in his basti. (An area where poor people stay) " Suhani said to her to whom she nodded and turn to leave.
"Hey wait, see how stupid I am, I totally forgot that I went for shopping yesterday and there I saw a beautiful dress so i bought that for you." She started to drag Dipti to her room.
"Ruko. (stop). She is not habitual to wear these expensive clothes. She wears these cheap 200 rupees kurti. (An India wear). You can give that package of your old clothes to her which you were going to donate to orphans and not to worry she is also orphans" She said laughing.
She again started her drama. Suhani thought as her mother in law always taunt her and dipti for being poor, but after she got a good lecture from rehaan she did not taunt her anymore but it did increase Dipti's troubles as now she is the only target of her mother in law.
Suhani know her mother in law will never leave a chance to taunt Dipti or humiliate her.
"Mom what are you" But Dipti cut her in.
"Its ok Suhani di. You are just like my elder sister. And there is no harm to wear your used clothes. You know sisters share their clothes" Dipti tried to lighten the atmosphere as she can guess suhani was getting angry.
"Sisters? You are just a maid. I know my suhani was also like you but now she is not some poor fellow you can call sister she is my daughter in law. You are just a maid so stay in your limit" Pinki said harshly.
"Enough". A voice bloomed in hall.
Pinki trembled in fear as she knows who this is, but she couldn't digest the fact he is here.
Dipti stilled at her place. She can't believe her ears. She thought she is just missing him so now she is started hearing his voice.
"Abhi, Oh my god. What a surprise. I'll call everyone. Oh my god" pinki came out of surprise or shock first.
"I came to give you all surprise, but i never thought I'll get a shock here. This is the way you all were treating my Jaan in my absence, like this" He raised his voice.
He calls her jaan because she saved his life once.
"Abhi" dipti whispered.
Hearing voices everyone came out.
""Abhi son, When did you" his grandmother started but she couldn't complete her sentence as she was interrupted by abhi.
"I left her here with you maa [grandmother]. I trusted you with her. I left on one condition grandma and what was that?" He asked to her.
"That we all will take care of Dipti just like you do" she replied slowly.
"And is this how you fulfilled your promise? Choti maa and bhabhi, they were treating her like a maid. They were giving her bhabhi's old clothes. Choti maa called her orphan. She is not an orphan, she has me. Do you all hear she is my best friend, my jaan, she is not an orphan." he yelled.
"And you.., (he pointed at suhani). Do you treat your own sis the same way? Didn't your parents teach you how to behave" He raised his voice and suhani and she left from there crying so did others.
Dipti ran towards him and hugged him.
"Calm down Abhi no one has hurt me and Suhani bhabhi was not giving me her old clothes. She was giving me a new dress which she bought for me you shouldn't have talked to her like this "Dipti said as she felt bad for suhani.
"You are so naive my jaan" he said shaking his head.
"No Abhi i know choti maa doesn't like me, but i swear on you Suhani di is not like her. She is really good". She tried to make him understand.
"If you say so" he said shrugging his shoulder.
"You have hurt her Abhi" she said hoping he will apologise.
"Its ok I'll apologize. Now leave all this and tell me how are you. I missed you" he changed the topic.
"That's why you didn't call me from 2 days" she asked huffing.
"Jaan I did call you day before yesterday and today I am here in front of you. I didn't call you from two days because i wanted to surprise you "he kissed her forehead.
Dipti blushed.
Abhinav pinched her cheeks and mumbled 'so cute'.
"you go get fresh you must be hungry" she said looking downwards.
"I am fresh. Your hugs took away my all tiredness". He said again hugging her.
"Ok then come I'll serve food for you". She said feeling his heartbeats.
"No, not here come" He dragged her to outhouse.
"Abhinav why are we here?" she asked confused.
"I want to eat with you" he replied to her shaking his head as if she has asked a stupid question.
"Abhinav but why here, I have cooked so many dishes there" she pouted.
"But i want to eat here with you" He said stubbornly.
"But" He hushed her by keeping his finger on her lips and she became still on her place. Her heart started to beat at a faster speed.
Dipti moved backward.
"Ok" She said after calming down herself.
Just then Sahil came there.
"Abhi" he screamed and hugged him.
"Sahil you are all sweaty. You will ruin his clothes. Move away". She said to him.
"Jealous" he said poking his tongue out at her.
"I am not jealous and why would I be?" She said narrowing her eyes to her brother.
"Aww. You are scared that I'll take your place. I'll become his Best friend". He said sticking his tongue out at her.
"No one can take her place" Abhi said.
Dipti smiled.
"Actually Abhi I just cooked this" She said nervously showing him parantha.
Abhinav came after four years and this is what you have to offer. She thought to herself and looked down nervously.
"Wow, I really missed your paranthas there" He moaned with satisfaction as soon as he took a bite and Dipti laughed hearing him making different sounds.
"Nothing changed same taste" he added.
After they all had their lunch they sat on the bed. Abhi picked his backpack and brought out a gift pack and gave it to Sahil.
"Wow is this all for me, what's in it. What is in this" He jumped in excitement. Both Abhi and Dipti rushed to him as he is handicapped.
"Sahil are you out of your mind. What if something had happened to you" she yelled at him.
"Nothing happened. Sorry i totally forgot in excitement that i only have one working leg" he said smiling.
"Sahil, you have both legs. It's just one is little bit weak" she said.
"Soon you will stand on both of your legs, and run in whole house". Abhi said to lift his mood.
"Really?" He asked.
"I talked with doctor and soon everything will be fine" He assured him.
"But Abhi, operation would be exp..."But Abhi cut her as he knows that she will deny taking his help.
"Now open your gift and see what is in this". Abhi turned towards Sahil and said to him.
He opened it.
"Panda set. Wow. I love you Abhi "he said excitedly.
Abhinav laughed and gave Dipti her packet.
"Abhi why" she started but as usual Abhi didn't let her complete
"Shhh just take it your Abhi is giving you something. Dare you try to say no" he said sternly.
It was a painting of her, her mother, abhi and little Sahil.
"Beautiful. Thank you Abhi now I'll never miss maa as she will be here with us" she said smiling.
She hanged it on a wall.
