'It's a day and five hours journey to Ordeta. I'll pass through Deivy estate, which is Count Vladimir's county. Hmm...he probably would've gone to Ordeta, I don't want anyone disturbing me...' Leon shifted the curtain and looked outside the chariot.
"It's evening already..."
"Yes, your grace, we will stop by at Deivy estate for the night and reach Ordeta tomorrow." Knight Daryon who was by the window replied.
Leon closed the curtain and leaned back, he stretched his legs placing them on the chair opposite him and folding his arms.
~Gbak~
~Gbak~
He jolted up at the sudden gallop.
"What happened?" He asked, sticking his head out the window.
"I apologise for this your grace, it seems the chariot's wheel has been stuck." The Charioteer said.
Leon opened the door and came down. His fine furry boots got entered into the mud and got stained immediately, he walked out of it and was greatly distressed but cried not.
"What do we do? Should we proceed by horse?" He asked.
"No! Attending a court meeting is different, the moment you enter the capital city, everything about you is being evaluated, from the quality of your chariot to the horses, to the knights that are following, down to every step of elegance you take. Everything about you must carry the pride of the Tirianae Duchy." Oweyn replied.
Leon sighed, 'This noble shit is a hassle."
"So what do we do? don't we have to make it to Deivy by night?" he asked.
"We will pull it ou-
Leon suddenly pushed Oweyn...
~Whoosh~
Something shot past them and into the tree leaving a burnt mark and smoke seeping out of it.
Leon looked towards where it had come from. He drew his sword from his waist and held it forward.
"Magic shot" With her hand pointed forward, energy purely of mana shot out of it.
~Kangg~
She didn't expect it at first when Leon bring out his sword. Magic short might be the lowest grade skill she has with the shortest cast time but its speed made it impossible for non-mages to block which was why she relied on it for simple attacks when facing fighters. But this was the first time she was seeing it dodged and blocked.
"He's pretty good..." She said.
[You have equipped Ifoxaifa's staff]
A wooden staff with two curved arcs and a yellow orb floating within the arcs appeared in her hand.
"Forces of nature heed my call, gather around me the essence of my will and aid my strength: Massive Fire Shot!"
~WHOOM~
From the point where she stood, a large fire shot out with shocking quickness.
Leon saw this and knew it was too late to equip the holy sword, without a hesitation he spun twice to the side, weaving the large wave of fire that blew. It blew past him but not past behind him. He belatedly looked back to see his chariot and knights on fire. Though he couldn't tell how a magic shield was cast in front of Oweyn, with Knight Daryon and the Charioteer behind him. But he couldn't spare a moment to worry about it.
He ran into the chariot and reached for the egg which was engulfed in massive heat from the fire.
He brought it out despite the hotness.
[You have been inflicted with burn damage, you have lost 2 health points]
[Conditions for hatching of ¿¿¿ egg have been met]
[You have formed a pact with ¿¿¿ ]
The burns on his hand suddenly began to glow and formed an arc with a line beneath it on his palm.
The egg began to crack. At that same time, the people hidden amidst the forest revealed themselves.
"Daryon."
"Yes, your grace," Daryon responded hurriedly.
"Buy me two minutes."
"I will protect you, your grace." He said and sharply rose. The knights were injured with burns so they couldn't stand. Hence only Daryon marched forward.
Oweyn belatedly walked behind him, "I'll support you from behind. I know a little magic." he said.
"Thank you for the assistance." Knight Daryon said, drawing out his two swords and dashing forward.
The cracks on the egg spread, Leon's curiosity grew but so did his impatience. He just had to be there when the egg was hatching, he had to be there, because of having witnessed pets you worked hard for in other games like someone else just because they were there when it first hatched, and he would often hear groundless rumours that whosoever is there when the eggs hatch is who whatever is in the egg sees as it's mama.
Finally, the white head popped out, its skin was furry and slimy from whatever the egg was made of. It fully came out of the egg with its four limbs and staggered as its eyes were closed. It fell into Leon's arm, its long tail wrapped around his hand. Leon was born blind of course many things he had not seen but that was if he was not playing VR games (headgear), plus having comprehensive knowledge about the things he could not see he could tell.
"This is a big cat...particularly looking like a lion if I'm not mistaken..." Leon said. The same mark that appeared on his hand appeared on the forehead of the cub.
[¿¿¿ has hatched but is in a sleep mode]

"Talk about saving the moment." Leon said and straightway touched the soldier that was lying next to him, "Heal."
[Target's burn damage has been healed]
[300 health points have been restored]
~Crash~
Daryon was slammed into the chariot, the fire had reduced but was still softly burning. He immediately stood up and looked at Leon, with blood running down his forehead.
"This is nothing, your grace. Don't worry I will protect you."
Leon looked at him and stopped him as he was about to go forward by placing his hand on his shoulder.
"It's okay." He said.
[You can not put Mufasa in your inventory]
'eh?' Leon was shocked as he tried putting the lion cub in his hand in his inventory. He placed it on Daryon's hand.
"Here, babysit him."
Daryon was quite astounded, he looked at the sleeping cub and looked at Leon who turned. The knight he healed earlier came beside him.
"I'll assist you, your grace."
"Don't worry, you'll only hinder me," Leon said.
[You have equipped Holy sword of Vita]
Leon swung the sword and looked toward the small group. He stretched his hand forward and signalled his finger telling them to come.
"This bastard!" Roiner instinctively shot an arrow, his jaw dropped after shooting.
Leon caught the arrow he shot a breath away from his eyes. He grinned at them as he bent the metallic arrow.
