Chapter 5 - Chapter 3 - Wax

Once again, the strong and vigilant glares from both sides began, almost backing out of my thoughts, hoping they would somewhat restrain me from talking. Silence took over, clouding my thoughts and track of thought, completely forgetting how to speak.

My heart was beating faster, palpitating breaths were taking over, and sweat was coating the palms of my hands and brows.

I started

"I was thinking about some things…..", seeing the confusion and slight apprehension about my next words, I found the courage and suddenly blurted out,

"I dropped out of university" then with silence commencing, with my lips, in a tight line, and eyes sealed shut, I did not want to look at my parents.

The silence continued for a while, killing me slowly, I slipped an eye open slightly, not expecting to see a hand millimeters from my face, and I flinched suddenly.

Seeing an angry and disappointed expression on my mother, and my father standing mere centimeters away from me.

She said " We're disappointed in you", a snarl starting to form on her face,

"You didn't even try to apply to good universities!" My father added, while staring daggers at me, as if trying to rip apart the skin on my face with his glare.

The blood rushed through my veins, making me feel hot like fire, and my head hurt with a throbbing sensation.

Sensing the rising anger, I tried to explain, " I wanted to do something else….",

"You're always running after boys, but never girls !" My mom yelled in frustration.

Shocked, confused, ashamed, and angry by their words I stood up and turned around to leave, never expecting my sexuality to be mentioned in any type of argument, how did they even know?

"You are grounded for life! You will be grounded until you graduate, you will stay here for the rest of your life, understand?!", My dad shouted before slamming the kitchen door behind me.

As soon as I entered my room, I slammed my body onto the floor falling asleep to the pain in my back cracking against the hardwood floor, and the feeling of the floorboard biting at my skin.

That night, I slept without dreams or any nightmares that followed it.

I just lay there in anticipation, waiting for one moment of hesitation from his parent's room. That one footstep, would force my whole perspective into obedience.
