Matthew took two cups of coffee towards Veronica's room, knocked at the door and entered without waiting for any answer. Veronica who sat on a chair was just staring at the windows.
As he handed her a cup of coffee, he remarked: "Watching the setting sun?"
She neither answered the question nor take the cup, so he put the cup beside her on the bed.
"What happened? Are you in a bad mood? – It happens..." Matthew was saying something when she took the cup and threw it on the ground, smashing it to pieces. Matthew was unpeturbed and they didn't talk to each other, as if ages had passed!
When she looked angrily at him, he asked softly, "What is the matter? Is there any problem?"
"You are the problem," she cried. "I cannot leave you because you know the languages and see what has happened because of you."
"What has happened?" He sounded scared for the first time.
"I cannot leave you; I cannot leave this hotel and the old man…"
"It is ok," he said slowly sipping his coffee. "I know why you are frustrated. It's because you could not get any information about Andrew. Do not worry about it. If not today or tomorrow, then some other day you will find it. And regarding us, you will be free from us very soon. You will not need us the day after tomorrow. Do not worry. I do not want to be the cause of anyone's trouble. We will drop you off at the railway station and we will be strangers again."
He did not move away or out of the room but stood beside her, even after finishing his coffee.
