Those footsteps suddenly stopped as she saw Lucas was there. The gray-eyed man was sitting on the sofa in the lobby. His body leaned against the back of the couch. He looked relaxed and enjoying his activities, even though no one else was with him. That was right. He was alone, or maybe alone because no one else was sitting on the sofa but him.
"What's wrong? Why did you stop?" Chris asked after finding Elle no longer walking next to him. She stopped and was four steps behind him.
