Chapter 2 - Chapter 1 Lesson 1-1 - Royal Academy of Daivolo - RAD

I awaken from my sleep in a strange place that looks like a courtroom, wearing what appears to be a school uniform, and being watched by several men. 'Where am I...? What is with this new clothing? Am I still sleeping and having a very weird dream? What is going to happen to me?' I try my best to calm the panic in me when the man in the chief judge's seat spoke. "Welcome to the Devildom, Daisy."

'Devildom..? What in the world is the Devildom?' The man in the seat of the chief judge noticed my shock and confusion which caused him to frown. "...Oh, pardon me. Feeling a bit shocked, are we? Well, that is understandable. You've only just arrived, after all. As a human, it will probably take a little while for you to adjust to things here in the Devildom."

Given some time to organize my thoughts, I tried to figure out what is going on. It felt way too real to be a dream, and what does this man mean by "As a human"? "The Devildom...?" If he called me a human and "The Devildom" was another name for Hell/The Underworld, then that would mean I am in a realm full of demons.

He chuckled. "Yes, exactly, the Devildom. I see that you catch on quickly. Excellent. I suppose I should start by introducing myself. My name is Diavolo. I am the ruler of all demons, and all here know of me. And someday soon, I will be crowned king of the Devildom." 'So I was right.' As Diavolo stood up, I tried not to show fear as he continued to speak.

"This is the Royal Academy of Diavolo...though we just call it RAD. You're standing inside of the assembly hall, the very heart of RAD. This is where we officers of the student council hold our meetings and conduct our business. I'm the president of said council." The more Diavolo said, the more I wonder why I am here and not in my room at home. "Not to be rude or anything, but why am I here?"

Though I was in an unfamiliar place and surrounded by demons, I wasn't entirely afraid. I know and believed in creatures such as demons and angels, and though demons are described as being inhuman, Christian demons were once angels that were cast out of Heaven. Also, in Greek culture, all spiritual creatures were called demons, whether they were good, evil, or neutral. Besides, I was always taught to never judge a book by its cover.

In response to my question, one of the other men stood up. He was wearing a school uniform that almost look just like mine and wore black gloves. He was tall, had neatly done black hair with grayish tips, dark red eyes, and pale skin. "I will explain everything to you." Diavolo smiled as he introduced me to the intimidating man. "Daisy, this is Lucifer. He is a demon and the Avatar of Pride. He's also the vice-president of the student council and my right-hand man...and not just in title, I assure you. Beyond that, he's also my most trusted friend."

Lucifer sighs, shaking his head with a frown. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Diavolo." Before Lucifer continues to speak, he gave me a smile which gave me mixed emotions of fear, awe, and, surprisingly, excitement. I mean, THE Lucifer, one of the angels that was cast out of Heaven and became the demon of pride. "Speaking on behalf of the entire student body at this great and storied school of ours...I offer you a most heartfelt welcome, Daisy."

Though they still haven't answered my question of why I am here, I had a feeling it had something to do with my school uniform and RAD. Being taught to be nice and polite, I questioned what Lucifer meant instead of forcing him to answer me. "On behalf of the students?" 'I wonder why demons would need to go to school anyway.'

"Diavolo believes that we demons should start strengthening our relationship with both the human world and the Celestial Realm. As a first step toward this goal, we've decided to institute an exchange program. We've sent two of our students to the human world and two to the Celestial Realm. And we're welcoming four students to our school: two from your world and two from the Celestial Realm. So, I take you've probably two and two together at this point, right?" I nodded, fully understanding everything except how I was even enrolled into this exchange program.

"You've been chosen from among the people of the human world to participate in this program of ours. You are our newest exchange student. Your period of stay is one year. You will have to work on the tasks that you will receive from RAD. After one year, you will write a paper about your exchange here in the Devildom." After hearing that I had to perform tasks, I get very worried. "Tasks?! What kind of tasks are we even talking about?!" 'Tasks can vary in a WIDE variety, and the tasks you may require me to perform are probably not going to be simple normal human tasks.'

Lucifer waved his hand at my worry as if I was overreacting. " You are here as an exchange student. Did you think really expect to spend your time here fooling around?" 'No, I understand that I am an exchange student and I have to learn and do things here, but I don't know what my tasks even are or how I can perform them. For all I know, you could be asking me to perform demonic rituals.'

I glared at Lucifer, who just chuckled at me as if I was a little kid. "Don't glare at me like that. It's not like I will abandon you all by yourself here in the Devildom. You need someone to look after you, and I think that someone should be my brother Mammon. He's the Avatar of Greed and...how should I put it...? Oh well, you'll understand soon enough." One of the other famous demons, Mammon, the demon of greed, brother of Lucifer, and once was an angel, just like Lucifer, before he was casted out of Heaven.

I watched as Lucifer came towards me, carrying what looked like a cellphone. He handed it to me. "Here, take this device. It's called a D.D.D. It's a lot like the cell phones of your world. This will be yours to use for as long as you're here. Now, go ahead and try calling Mammon with it."

I did what I was told and unlocked the phone, went to contacts, and called Mammon. All that was left to do was wait and see if he picks up. It didn't take Mammon long to pick up the call. "Yoooo." A male voice could be heard from the phone, and I looked to Lucifer, making sure I called the right person. Lucifer nodded, and I replied to Mammon. "Hello..." All was silent, and for a second, I thought he hung up.

"Huh? Who the hell are ya? You ain't Lucifer." At least he didn't hang up, but I was starting to get a headache from his rude attitude. "I'm a human." I didn't feel like telling him my name, as he was being rude and probably didn't care what my name was anyway. "Whaaa? A human? Geez, I gettin' all chilly here thinkin' it was Lucifer again. Ya should've told me right away. So, what business does a human got with THE Mammon?" 'Geez, arrogant much?'

"You will be in charge of me from now on. I hope we can get along well." Being taught to be nice to others, even if they are being rude to you, I try to not anger Mammon. "No way! There's nothin' in it for me. Whaddya even mean by "be in charge of you"? AHH! I get it now, you're the other human-the new exchange student! G'luck with that, and see ya." Remembering that Lucifer wanted Mammon to watch over me, I tried to stop him from hanging up.

"Lucifer called for you." Mammon just scoffed that what I said. "Pffft, whatever. Ya think THE Mammon would listen to ya just 'cause you're tryin' to scare me with that name?" Before I could say anything else, Lucifer grab the phone. "You've got 10 seconds...9...8..." Mammon started speaking when he heard Lucifer's voice. "YESSIR!" Mammon soon hung up, and Lucifer handed the phone back. Now I just have to wait for Mammon to come.
