The Delta protocol was the Angel Slayer's emergency defense protocol that activated the Mecha's concealed utilities and gave the pilots access to advanced armaments.
Though the Angel Slayer had been designed for hand-to-hand combat, it wasn't completely defenseless against ranged attackers. To fend off aerial foes, the Mecha was equipped with advanced Seeker Drones that could be remotely controlled from its cockpit.
As soon as Captain Giles initiated the drone launch, a timer appeared before them, counting down from ten. Once it hit zero, a hidden compartment opened up on the Mecha's left shoulder, and out flew a triangular unmanned aerial vehicle.
Unlike the common security drones that had propellers on them, this one was powered by two underside thrusters and looked a lot like a prototype stealth jet. Under each of its flat, shaft-like wings, it carried a pair of heat-seeking missiles and its nose was equipped with a rapid-firing pulse gun.
