The troops patrolling the roads started running helter-skelter across the base to retreat to the safety of their nearest garage, barrack, or outpost. The unexpected announcement unleashed such chaos, that the Raiders abandoned their posts and fled without a second thought.
"What the hell is happening out there?" Ravi asked, looking out through the glass windows. Armed bandits and civilians alike were scampering across the base like scared little fawns.
"The time for your salvation is at hand!" the older Raider officer exclaimed lifting his head like a crazed prophet. "The fallen angel will cleanse these lands of all insurgents!"
"Looks like this one's lost it," Ravi frowned, holding his rifle up.
"Who was that on the loudspeaker?" Nash asked, turning to the other Raider.
"It was Captain Giles."
