The damage to Kevin's exoskeleton was so extensive that it was impossible for him to repair it completely without the help of a hardware expert.
With his right arm destroyed and his HUD disabled, he was in no condition to engage in combat. But he knew he couldn't fall back without eliminating those three high-value targets.
The only plus side to this was the fact that his artificial neural receptors weren't too sensitive to pain. Due to this, despite losing an arm, he didn't go into shock.
If Kevin had an organic body, the blood loss resulting from this kind of extreme injury would have killed him soon after, but his exoskeleton was completely mechanical. The only real problem was the coolant leak caused by the ruptured cooling tubes.
