A surprise from Shane was the last thing Kevin had hoped for. He wasn't exactly a flowers type of guy. Kevin couldn't even begin to guess what he had in mind.
"We are going to the hardware lab. Kevin needs to undergo a physical check," Dr. Stacey announced. "You can accompany us if you want."
"I don't really enjoy the scientific mumbo jumbo. No offense, doc. I think I'll just wait outside," Shane said, politely declining the offer.
"What about your surprise?" Cassandra asked. "You don't strike me as a person who loves sending thoughtful gifts to a recovering cyborg."
"Let's just say I decided to make an exception for a friend," Shane replied, heading back inside the elevator.
Kevin and the others joined Shane and took the elevator to the upper floor.
