Opening the gates of Olympus was a three-man job. At the front, the city had an inner gate controlled by a console inside the security room and a laser grid that had to be manually turned off by two authorized security personnel by using two retinal scanners simultaneously.
The Captain logged into his account and entered a series of commands to release the locks holding the gate down. As soon as the locks were deactivated, the massive titanium gate started going up. It was programmed to lift slowly to allow the guards to prepare in case there was a hostile machine at the gate.
Once the gate was half lifted, the guards took positions behind their energy shields. The two towers overlooking the gate turned on their black beacon lights, and the snipers inside readied their fusion rifles.
