Previously their main goal was to avoid detection at all costs. However, now that Lazarus had been discovered, they knew they had to fortify their position. Kurt, Guzman, and the others set to work placing auto turrets on elevated platforms and laying down barricades in front.
A couple of technicians were called from the shelter. They used their precision cutters to remove the destroyed blast door and cleared the entrance of debris. The original blast door had been built over 40 years ago when the fallout shelter was being modified. It was bulletproof and could withstand explosions from grenades and low-yield rockets.
Designing a new blast door within such a short time was impossible, so the technicians came up with a temporary solution. They proposed sealing off the entrance with two sliding reinforced steel doors separated by a five-meter gap. Though they wouldn't be as durable as blast doors, they would keep out most attack drones and infantry-class robots.
