A hot gust of air swept the vacant streets, blowing dust and gravel in their faces. Kevin matched the android's gaze and stood his ground.
"Why do you continue to resist, cyborg? Why do you help the humans?" EMMA asked, ambling towards him. She did not seem to be in any hurry.
Though Shane had safely escorted the settlers to the fire station, the android did not bother going after them. Instead, she chose to fight Kevin. It was clear that she was intrigued by him.
Kevin took a step back and activated the Sonic Amplifier on his left arm. Last time he had caught EMMA by surprise, but now there was no one there to distract her. The android's attention was completely focused on Kevin.
"Who made you, Cyborg?" EMMA asked, staring him down. "Why do you oppose us? Whose orders do you follow?"
"I don't need to answer your questions!" Kevin glowered. "You're just a damn machine!"
