The doctor opened his eyes inside a dark, dinghy room that smelt of grain and damp clothes. The only source of light in that confined space was a miniature emergency lamp aimed at his face.
He squinted his eyes as the bright light shone directly on his face, blinding him temporarily. Both his hands were tied to a wooden chair and his feet duct-taped together.
"Hey! Untie me!" he shouted, shaking his chair violently in hopes of undoing the binds, but it didn't help in the least. "Get me out of here, please. Can anyone hear me?"
"Your prayers have been answered." The sound of heavy footsteps filled the room as the door opened and someone stepped through.
