Laying the Raider's body on the ground, Kevin retracted his weapons and stepped back. Blood steadily dripped from his fingers as he lifted his hand and brought it close to his face.
He had killed so many people by now that he had lost count. There was a time when he would shudder at the thought of taking a human life, but now it felt more like a chore.
Kevin didn't feel any guilt or even remorse for killing the Raiders, but only a sense of regret. Gunther was the one he should have kept alive, for he knew who the traitor was. But in a fit of rage, he had given in to his impulses. It was too late to rethink his actions. The Raider was dead now, and so were Kevin's chances of finding out who the mole was.
Before dying, Gunther had disclosed two important details: the mole was a female researcher and she hated Kevin. These two were the only leads he could follow.
