Kelly couldn't figure out what had gone wrong while using her ability. It shouldn't have been possible for her to get inside a closed structure. She had a picture of the crash site crystal clear in her mind, and there was no way she would miss her mark.
Teleporting a few feet away from the chosen destination was an acceptable outcome, under strained conditions, but Kelly was nowhere close to the crash site. It simply didn't make any sense. Though her mind knew where to go, her body did not coordinate.
Staying inside Locust Spider territory was asking for trouble. Kelly didn't want to wait for the brood mother to show up and find an unwanted human in her territory. She composed her thoughts and took a few deep breaths to calm her jittery nerves. Then picturing the crash site behind the terrarium, she used her teleportation ability once more.
