The Scouts were in too much of a shock to speak to Guzman, but they followed his orders without question. What the old sniper had just done was completely unexpected. The Scouts had committed many crimes in their past lives, but none of them had ever killed another person.
Guzman had made the difficult choice by washing his hands with the blood of his own teammate. In his mind, it was a necessary sacrifice to keep the others safe, but his Scouts did not seem to share his principles.
There was no way for him to justify his actions, so he didn't even make an effort. Instead, he kept quiet and continued riding across the sky. When they reached the road where the convoy had been stalled, Guzman landed his hoverbike on the ground and parked it near a broken traffic light.
