Elayne's Domain was still at its starting stage, and many of the powerful abilities it could develop had yet to be fully developed yet. One of them was the power of {Self-Defense}! If only these invaders had come a few days later, her Domain would have surely already developed it.
However, thanks to Katherine temporarily fusing her Spiritual Soul into the Domain Core, she was able to forcefully awaken many of the Domain's innate talents and abilities it would develop as it continued to grow.
