ONE YEAR LATER,
Beatrix groaned loudly in her pillow as the sun rays hit her eyes out of the blue mercilessly.
"Wakey….wakeyy…." A voice cooed and Beatrix let out a series of incoherent sounds. Wanting the annoying voice to shut up.
"Come on Princess, wake up. You don't want to keep your handsome prince waiting."
Beatrix rolled on the bed to face away from such brutality so early in the morning. Covering her head with her blanket.
The blanket was yanked away from her, and Beatrix whined, "Leave me alone." She bemoaned covering her head with the pillow.
"Time for the gym Bey. You don't want to keep Matteo waiting do you? He seems pretty piss this morning-"
Beatrix abruptly woke up when she heard the name of her elder brother. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes and saw Ares, the youngest of the Quinn's brothers smirking at her.
"I'm hurt that you fear Matteo more than me. Even his name can wake you up."
Beatrix was in no mood to deal with Ares right now. Everyone knew how strict Matteo was when it came to their morning training.
Something about a healthy family being a happy family and how they can bond during that time.
As if as the oldest son of most dangerous mob boss needed some stupid morning exercise to be healthy. He was more fit from throwing punches and slicing people open.
Beatrix shivered, as much as they tried to keep her from knowing what they were doing she had sneaked around once and what she saw still sent her shivers.
She couldn't believe her sweet and loving brothers were so cold and cruel to others.
They were busily skinning a man alive and her twisted middle brother Remo was laughing as he was doing it. His eyes glinted with so much excitement as if he was playing with a doll and not a human being.
The man's screams and fearful eyes had haunted her for years until they found her having nightmares and suggested a therapist for her.
Beatrix was just 15 at that time. Now being 22 she had come to terms that this is what her family was. A family of heartless murders who would do anything to protect one another.
Her brothers might be monsters and demons to others but to her she loved them with all her heart.
They could be annoying like any other siblings but she was their princess and anyone who touches their princess dies.
"Here. I have picked your gym outfits." Ares said, pointing to the outfit that he had placed on the couch in her room.
" I will see you there in 5 minutes . We don't want to keep our big boss waiting, do we?"
Ares chuckled and left her room.
Beatrix got up from the bed and dragged her exhausted body around. Waking up until 3 am searching for different people called Rhys on the internet was such a stupid move by her. Yet it was become her daily ritual.
It was like she never met him one year ago but the butterflies in her belly anytime she thought about the kisses and the Polaroid camera and the hidden pictures in her safe suggested otherwise.
Could someone just disappear out of the surface of the earth? Or was everything that happened that day an illusion?
Beatrix sighed, she looked at herself in the mirror and cringed. She looked like a zombie from how messed up her hair was.
She pulled her hair in a messy bun and walked to the bathroom to freshen up a little before she went to meet her father and brothers.
They knew something was bothering her but she didn't trust herself to tell them. How do you tell your overprotective brothers that you have been having sleepless nights for months because of a boy.
A boy who has probably forgotten about you.
