Cora's word to Theodore caught him off guard, and he thus thought about her words. But if he still agreed with Cora that he was careless about their agile son as they were both careless about his weakling sister, then she lied.
"Nonsense! I chose the little brother over the elder sister and that decision I still stand by till today." He blurted.
It was not like Cora heard him though because she was far gone from the chamber and down from the tower as she walked majestically down the stairs, revealing her presence on the lowest floor of the coven.
Such were the candles that were lit at every sharp corner of the coven and behind every black curtain were woods nailed to cover every window, even when they were as tiny as loopholes.
No ray of the sun, no shine of any kind of light must penetrate the coven without the grand elders' permission, and the turns heeded this authority. They need not be told before they know what to do during the day.
