It had been days of endless torture for Raquel. She couldn't quite believe that the so-called beasts her parents warned her of actually existed. But lo and behold they not only existed but they lived in packs, an entire community that functioned from what Lea told her. She was still not allowed to leave the house but could go outside if she wanted to and deep down she was frustrated at being so restricted. Silas' overbearing nature was truly driving her insane and she was annoyed he refused to allow her to sleep in her own room when he had plenty of them in the house that were barely used.
However, she was grateful he was hardly home. Silas, she came to quickly learn would rise early in the morning and go off doing God knows what and return in the evenings. He never told her the details of what he did but to be honest she never bothered to ask. Getting to know him was the last thing she wanted when all she wanted to do was go home. She was sure her family was losing their minds from not hearing from her and she had tried looking all over the house for her phone only to end up unsuccessful.
No matter how hard he tried to engage in conversation with her, she never bothered sating anything to him and yet she was stuck at night enveloped in his arms. Though they felt good to have on her body, the warmth radiating from them couldn't stop the tears that fell. Such that she was completely flabbergasted when he insisted she was coming out with him somewhere. So there she was staring at the scenery splayed out before her as the vehicle moved quietly along the tar road. She made sure to keep her body as physically far away from him as possible whilst he sat on the other side staring out the window trying to figure out what to say. He hadn't been spending as much time with her as he would have liked to with a war on the precipice of taking place. Lea had also taken the liberty of making it clear to him keeping her in the house wouldn't make winning her over any easier.
In as much as he tried talking to her whenever he could, he hadn't said anything to Raquel about how he often heard her crying in the midst of the night. It broke him knowing he had made her so miserable. Although she did react to his body touching her, the emotional connection was one that had to be developed.
"We're going to get you some new clothes," he muttered into the silent space, he heard her shift in her seat before a sigh came out of her lips. "You're really not letting me go," she said not bothered to pose it as a question. It was obvious the man was set on keeping her whether she liked it or not. And Silas for the remainder of the ride chose to remain quiet afraid he'd say something to make her more upset.
They soon arrived at a small mall that had a plethora of different shops and the minute they stepped out of the vehicle a number of people gawked at the couple. News had spread that the Alpha had found his mate but nothing could've prepared the people for seeing the couple out in the open. With Raquel keeping her head down feeling self-conscious she followed behind Silas trying to hide behind his large figure that moved without a care in the world considering he was used to the looks. With guards on either side no one dared make their way towards them and when they entered a shop known for its designer clothes they were quickly assisted. After all it was an honour to get a chance to get the Luna of the pack to wear their clothes, no doubt it would be good for business and the clerk was willing to provide any form of aid she could as Raquel moved around choosing the clothes she'd like to try on without bothering to look at the price. Secretly she was hoping to get on Silas' nerves with the spending she'd do and be difficult whenever she could in order to get him to let her leave.
But the Alpha remained silent choosing to take a seat whilst she was moving around which made her slightly pissed off, an emotion Silas could detect that had him amused at what was irritating her.
Marching into the changing room she spent a period of time trying on each outfit. She purposefully moved at a slow pace purposefully ignoring the very existence of time ticking by. In fact she blocked out Silas' words to hurry up due to the fact something came up that required his attention. Not the least bit bothered to respond as she eyed her figure in a black set of lingerie in the full length mirror. For a moment it felt good to finally have feminine clothing on her body. Although a miniscule part of her relished in wearing his clothes it was a nice change to wear something that fit her perfectly.
As she continued eyeing her figure the door to the dressing room swung open, shrieking in horror at having her privacy disrupted she lifted her hands to cover her chest only to have Silas advance towards her. With nowhere to run she had no choice but to cower against the wall as his eyes took her in.
He hadn't meant to barge in on her but she had left him no choice when she intentionally ignored him when he needed to go see Ivan who claimed there was an urgent matter to discuss. It had made him tense wondering what the urgent matter could be, however, the moment his eyes took notice of the way the little fabric adorning her body hugged her breast and ample backside his mouth began excreting more saliva ready to devour her. "I don't like it when you ignore me."
"I don't like it when you don't respect my personal space!" she gritted out her expression hardening at the fact he was trying to intimidate her. Raquel wouldn't give him the satisfaction of seeing her fearful and she proceeded to push his chest but the man was built like a rock and barely shifted. In fact he moved forward till his body was pressed against hers to the extent she could feel the hard contours of his hard body and felt him place his hand around her neck, immediately causing her legs to shake as moisture gathered in her panties.
"DAMN IT!", she internally seethed annoyed at her body betraying her. He bent his head down sniffing her flesh taking note of her arousal in the air that sung for him, that tempted him to take full advantage of her state, "If I'm calling you…" he paused placing his hand between her legs where it landed against her inner thigh causing her to inhale sharply, "I expect you to answer, woman. I allowed the silent treatment but pretending like you can't hear m –"
"Do you think I give a damn about your bruised feelings?!" she snarled snapping her legs shut prohibiting his hand from venturing any further as she stared up at him intensely. Her gaze unwavering yet depicting within her sepia eyes a tale of a woman pissed amidst the arousal. Clenching his jaw at the response he pulled back reluctantly and told her to get dressed whilst he paid for her clothes.
Stepping out she looked out to find the worker who had been helping her pretending to busy herself with a manikin, Raquel had secretly hoped the woman would've come to her aid when she saw Silas barge in there but she was starting to see that her screaming out for help would've been futile. Silas was far too important to cross and that fact alone had her hope diminishing as she marched towards the car, slapping his hand away when he attempted to touch her.
As a result with her anger flaring they remained seated on opposite sides of the car with neither of them talking once again. The silence staring blankly at them both as each delved deeper into their thoughts. Silas was mentally preparing himself for whatever the issue was but kept his composure only to have her finally speak up, "You can't just take me without my permission… I have a life, a family," she mumbled keeping her eyes trained on the images flashing past as the vehicle took them back to Silas' home.
"I need you by my side."
"So what I want doesn't matter, huh?" she asked blinking back the set of tears ready to spill, she refused to allow herself to cry in front of him. She had resorted to waiting for him to fall asleep sniffling quietly under the blanket of darkness wondering what she did to deserve this. Though she had planned to eventually start dating again, she was growing convinced she had bad luck when it came to love nowadays.
It wasn't long before she felt strong fingers grab her chin turning her to face him, "What you want does matter. I would do anything to make you happy, but I can't get myself to let you go when you bring me a sense of peace I never knew I needed. I know I haven't been doing a great job lately of showing you that we are meant to be but I promise to if you'll allow me to," he proposed staring at her, secretly hoping she wouldn't reject him. He rubbed gentle circles into her skin secretly knowing if he would be deprived of the soft feel of it he wouldn't survive, "Just give me time to change your mind… if you still don't want me," he breathed swallowing down hard to steel himself for what he was about to say, "you can reject me."
"But if memory serves me right won't rejecting you… kill you?"
He nodded his head in confirmation of the doom that came when a wolf was rejected. Hardly anyone could survive the mortal blow and Silas knew he was gambling but he needed her to give him a chance, "If you consider the fact I took you away… won't I deserve it?"
Raquel contemplated the proposition, it seemed fair enough that should she decide to leave he'd let her despite the result. At least she hoped he would be a man of his word and in the end she nodded her head and said, "Fine… I'll give you time but if I'm not convinced. I leave…"
