Chapter 12 - Reasoning

Sweet dreams? Was she normal? Lei imagined her body, her face, her mouth, which haunted him in dreams these past nights, and sighed. He couldn't have sweet dreams. He wanted her. So, what he would have was another cold shower.

He had to say that she was really something. Today she just stood there smiling and left him to behave like an idiot. Even though he deserved it.

He came to the HQ after a long meeting with a sponsor. They did not have many of them yet. But thanks to his clever brain, skills with money, and overall, thanks to his family's money, they could buy everything with their own money.

But this was the company making the gaming chairs. Every team needs them, and if you have your own series, your popularity will skyrocket. And he managed to negotiate a deal with them. Black comfy chairs with a red dragon sewn on them, in exchange for Doom's image, which meant Chao had to make an ad for it, for free. Nothing hard right.

But that little brat said no. In front of the sponsors. He wanted to slap him right there. But luckily Lei interfered and said that they will give them the answer later.

Then he came back pissed as hell, because Chao was negotiating in the car, and found that little blondie who haunted his dreams, smiling at Yitian.

Girls thought that Yitian was beautiful in a cute way. So Lei got jealous. He got a lot jealous. Because of her.

He was given a nickname on Weibo; it was Cold Cool CEO, because of how indifferent he always was. Bullshit. Lei was nowhere near cool or cold when he was with her or when he thought about her. He looked down at his lap. More like he was overly hard and lively.

Lei took a shower, laid down on the bed, and closed his eyes. His rest was disturbed by an incoming call. When Lei saw who was calling, he hung up. After a few minutes, he got a new message from the same person.

"Hey, want to invite my sister-in-law to join us tomorrow? She loves games. She would be excited…" he wrote, pissing off Lei with the sister-in-law thing. But to Chao's defense, he never behaved toward a woman like this.

Mmm, it wasn't a bad idea. Sometimes that guy could be useful. Lei could imagine her next to him enjoying the tournament. And hugging her if they win. And their winning was not only a probability. They were good and with her weapons; they were over-the-top for the first round.

"Thank you, sweet dreams to you, too. We have a game tomorrow, so if you want to come and watch us, I can take you there." Lei hit send but noticed too late that he was in the wrong chat. He sent it to the Dragons' group.

He tried to delete it quickly, but it was too late. The chat was already flooded with mocking messages that followed his mishap. He just ignored them and sent the same message to Lili, again.

"Sure… Just send me where, and I'll wait for you there." She was quick to answer and didn't forget to include smiling emojis.

'She is so cute,' Lei thought and then mentally slapped himself.

He wrote her the address where, and the time when, they would come. Why was today everyone smarter than him? He knew the reason but just shut his mind and went to sleep, looking forward to tomorrow.

Lei was coming out of the minibus with his team. He was first out and was looking around if he saw Lili. But it was hard.

They were quite popular thanks to Chao, Huobai, and Yixing. They were a skilled player and handsome, girls loved their handsomeness, and guys loved their skills.

So, Lei wasn't so surprised to find banners shoved in his face with their names. Huobai had posted their arrival on Weibo, didn't he?

Because of him, Lei now had a problem finding Lili. She was small and cute, hard to spot if it wasn't for her blond hair, but her distinguishing hair was nowhere to be seen.

Lei was determined to go inside, but people were blocking their way. When he started to gently push them aside, he was tackled by someone.

Surprised by the sudden attack, Lei made a few steps back, but the person was still holding him. Not holding, more like fondling him and because that touch of the small hands was quite familiar, he looked down.

Of course, the person holding his butt was well known to him. She was at eye level with his lap. Again. Lei bent over and helped her stand up. Then he hugged her with one hand, so she would be closer to him, safer.

"This is the second time. Once is an accident, twice is fate. Don't you think that fate is telling you something?" he whispered to the blond head, that was now at the height of his shoulders but sprawled on his belly just seconds before.
