Chapter 22 - Chapter 22 || Mercenary

"Hey brother, why is it so boring here?"

Riya asked lying on the bed like a lazy person.

"Because there is nothing better here. You can study skills, or explore the academy, or maybe go hunt the monster."

"Yeah! Let's go hunt down it!"

Bam!

A fist landed on Riya's face, with a teary face she patted it and complained. "Ow! Ow! Ow! Don't you have a mouth! Why do you have to hit me?"

"Because you are spouting nonsense. You are just a tier 2 magician, and you want to go hunting down the monster. Grow up first, my little sister."

"Uuuu! I am already 16 and you still treat me like a kid!"

"Because you.are.a.kid! Understand!"

"But!"

"No buts. I will take you to the monster forest if you learn two tiers 2 skills by tomorrow."

"What?! By tomorrow? I am not a genius, bro. It will at least take 2 to 3 days to comprehend one skill for me. And you are asking me two! That's not fair!"

"Yeah yeah. Then keep quiet."

"Hmph! Aren't you just tier 0, yourself, what right do you ha-"

Bam!

"Ow! Ow! Use your fucking mouth! Not fist!"

"Then stop blabbering."

"But it is right..." Riya said in a low voice fearing getting punched again.

Swoosh!

A fireball, the size of a head appeared in Allen's hand that blew away Riya.

"B-brother..."

"Yes, my dear sister."

"D-Did you advanced... into tier 3?"

Riya felt the pure mana and strong aura flowing out from Allen's body. She gulped and smiled drily.

"Yeah."

"What the hell? Isn't it been like one... no two months since I saw you? At that time, you were just tier 0! How did you advance so quickly? It took me 4 years to advance into tier 2!"

"That's still good. Some people take 5 years while some 6."

"Haha... But real genius-"

"Yeah! Those at my age have already surpassed tier 6."

An awkward silence appeared, but Allen sighed and stood.

"Haah! I am bored. It's not my style to stay indoors."

Allen stretched his arms.

"Yeah. Let's go."

"Where are you going?" Seeing Riya standing up, Allen became curious.

"The place where you are going."

'So, you are following me."

"Yeah, any problem?"

"Don't you think, your brother could be going on a date? So, don't follow me, just stay in your room."

"Pfft! You who have never even touched a woman's hand are saying that you are going to date. That was a funny joke."

B-

"Stop! No violence."

"Then just stay here!"

"Whyyyyy?"

"Because...."

"Yes."

...

"You have no reason to refuse, right? So, let's go."

"Ok, princess."

"Yay!"

Allen sighed as he looked at the energetic little sister.

*****(Allen Academy Exploration will come soon.)*****

Plop!

"Waa! That was fun. The academy is so big."

"Yeah yeah. Go to your room now." Allen said showing a tried expression.

"No! I want to sleep here with you."

"Ok. Sleep well, I am going to sleep in your room."

"Wait! I want to sleep 'Together'."

"In your dreams."

"Nooo!"

Slam!

Allen kicked out Riya from his room and slammed the door closed. She couldn't do anything but go back to her room.

"Whew!"

Allen slept in his bed peacefully.

Next day-

Allen slipped out from the academy before Riya would come to bother him. He walked toward the black market casually, but before he enter the street that lead to the black market. His attention shifted to the huge building with a sign 'Mercenary Guild'

He halted his step and changed his direction toward that building.

As he entered inside, a place half tavern and half guild revealed. Tables and chairs with people sitting on them while eating breakfast, a big notice board with several requests stuck on it, and a receptionist table with a young girl in her twenties standing behind it with a smile on her face.

This all seemed like a fantasy novel, a place that Allen didn't care about. Now that he thinks about it, he should take some requests. Taking a request gives more money than acting without taking one.

For example, if one would take a request of a Tier 3 monster corpse, and he will complete it, he would get additional money for the service along with the price of the corpse. And additional corpse equals additional money.

"Let's get registered as a mercenary."

Allen thought. He walked toward the receptionist girl.

"Hello sir, how may I help you?" She softly said. Her voice was melodious like a tune that would attract any person. Not only was her voice, but her appearance was also top-notch. She had huge melons that added sexiness to her body.

She was wearing a normal dress, but her body was slim and had perfect curves, which made her look like an idol from the earth.

Anyway, Allen shook his head and removed all dirty thoughts from his head. He looked like a monk who had far suppressed his worldly desire.

"I want to register as a mercenary."

"Really?" The girl clapped her hand and a joyous expression formed on her face.

"We were lacking some manpower. Thank you for joining. Please just fill this paper."

"Wut? It's this easy?"

"Hmm? Yeah. What else will there be?"

Cough! "Nothing"

Allen looked at the form, there were all basic things like name, height, class, tier, and age.

Allen filled out the form in some minutes and handed it back to the girl.

She then took out a device that had one big purple crystal on top of it, with two openings. One looked like an entrance and another exit.

As the girl put the from in the device and fill the crystal with her mana. The crystal glowed brightly and a small card came out of another end like a receipt,

"Here."

Allen was dumbfounded, he didn't think that becoming a mercenary was this easy. Not only that, the device was amazing as heck. It just converted a paper into a card.

Realizing the shocked expression on Allen's face, the girl chuckled. "Are you surprised to see this thing?"

"Yeah."

"Isn't this thing amazing? It made my work much easier. This device is called, a card maker."

"Cardmaker?"

"Yeah. According to what I heard, this device circulates the mana inside it and scans the paper, compresses it, and creates a small portable card."

She described the function with a gleam in her eyes. Allen stares at her for a moment before asking.

"Can I go and check the request?"

"Ohh!" Her sense came back to reality. "You can go. Sorry for keeping you." She bowed her head.

Allen nodded and looked at the notice board.

[Need Tier 3 (Flame Tiger) Corpse - Reward: 10,000 gold coins for corpse,5,000 gold coins for the service.]

[In urgent need of 10 Tier 4 (Magic Cores) any monster would do - Reward: 8,000 gold coins per magic coin and 15,000 gold coins for service.]

[My baby is lost, please find her...]

...

Allen blinked his eyes repeatedly looking at the list. The price of all of them was good, he could also get additional money for his service.

But he didn't feel the need to take one, why, it felt boring.

"Urgent need of Mage! A tier above 2, please join our party!"

"Huh?"

Suddenly, an announcement came out in the building. A child who just looks 10 or 11 years old was shouting at the crowd.

"Hmm. Interesting. I should try joining a party."

Allen grinned. He walked toward the boy and said. "I will join."
