The next day.
"Why did you drag me into your bet?" asked the maid at the inn. She doesn't seem to like it when I get too involved in her personal life.
"I want to free you from this village, take you to Midtown," I replied.
I'm still getting ready in my room at this inn. Sharpen the tip of my spear using a stone in the hope that the battle later will bring good results for me. Two people will be involved in my bet if I manage to win.
The first is the maidservant at this inn. The second is Jonas' second grandson, who wants to be an adventurer. I have reasons I invited the two of them: to get rid of them from this village.
"I don't want to go to Midtown. I don't want to show my unlucky face in front of Giselle," the woman pleaded. That's one of the other reasons that made me determined to take her, removing the insecurity from her.
"If you stay here, then you will die of starvation," I said. The woman in front of me fell silent as she lowered her head.
