Chapter 4 - First Training

The blacksmith said it would take about five to seven days to make the weapon I ordered. I was shocked to hear that. I never thought the way things worked in this world different from the games I've played.

"Why did it take so long to make?" I asked, curious.

"Because to make a weapon according to your order, I have to find a suitable material so that it is strong and not easily damaged," explained the man, his right hand flicking the sword that was displayed beside him, making a clear loud sound.

"Don't worry, Arthur. I can lend you some weapons I have as training tools," Eve said.

What else can we do? I also asked for the weapon because I had other reasons why I wanted my spear like that. The main reason was as a form of disguise.

I'm sure there's something wrong with the class I got, considering that some people I meet at the Guild Office always say the same thing, be careful.

"Sorry to bother you," I said, lowering my head slightly.

"That's okay. The sooner we start training, will be better the results."

"Wait a moment."

The blacksmith man stopped Eve and me. I quickly turned around and looked back at him blankly.

"You're new, right? I need the form the guild gave me to register the weapon," explained the man. The form he was referring to might be paper bearing the official seal of the guild.

I immediately grabbed it and unfolded it. There was a form with twelve square fold lines. Even so, the writing and stamp on the paper can still be seen clearly.

At first, the man's expression seemed normal, but when he read further down. His eyes showed another indication that the man showed.

"Why didn't you tell me he was a—"

WUSH!

Eve was beside the blacksmith man with her right hand covering the man's mouth. The movement was so fast that even my eyes couldn't keep up with speed.

"Don't talk too much!" Eve insisted, even though her back was to me, but I could guess what face she was making.

"It's dangerous if you continue to be with him. You can die!" The blacksmith said something that surprised me. He looked so severe that I could even see both of his eyes shining sharply on Eve.

"I know. However, there is a debt that I have to pay," Eve explained.

Then, the woman began to lower her hands. Eve warned the blacksmith man not to tell anyone about my class or me.

"I understand. I certainly don't want my number one customer to die just because of this," the man replied, putting my form paper on a book.

"It's good if you understand."

After that, Eve immediately withdrew my hand and was invited away from the blacksmith's shop. I, who don't know anything, can only follow wherever she takes me.

The words of the blacksmith man kept ringing in this head. The phrase 'You can die' doesn't seem to be used as a joke thing. No one is using it as a joke.

But from what I saw in the expression on Eve's face. Her eyebrows went down, both eyes lit up, and her mouth didn't say anything. So, I was thinking, is it appropriate for me to ask her at this moment about what the man said earlier?

She held my right wrist, leading me to walk on a small road far from the center of the village. These two eyes focused on looking at a house that stood firmly with a large green courtyard.

The walls and parts are made from wood, and there is a beautiful pool of water and a bridge connecting the house's front yard and terrace.

"Come in." Eve opened the house's fence and allowed me to come in and enjoy the unusual architecture I had never seen before. The only beauty in my real world is the tropical forest and the vastness of the savanna.

I only know these beauties from the fairy tales read by my mother. However, in front of me at this time. I can enjoy the beauty of 'fairy tales' just for me.

The house door is open, but I prefer to stand alone in the middle of the wooden bridge. I saw with great amazement the pond's cleanliness, the clear water, and the diversity of fish species.

"Do you like it?"

The question surprised me. I quickly turned my head and saw that she was already carrying a spear that was not so long but looked still strong even though it was made of wood.

"Yes. I've never seen anything like this before," I answered, telling the truth.

"Is that true? Wow, I wonder what your world is like," said Eve.

The woman was seen putting her spear on the terrace of the house. Before I use it, it starts dusting and wiping from the bottom to the blade above.

"We'll be training in the backyard, directly facing the forest. If we're lucky, maybe we can run into some forest demons hanging around," Eve explained, pointing behind her with the thumb of her right hand.

"Forest demon?" I asked, surprised.

"That's right. A lot of demons have come out of their cages," Eve joked, she laughed loudly, but I couldn't find what was funny about her words.

Seeing that I was silent, she began to explain the meaning of her words.

She used small stones in front of the house and formed a circle, not perfect but looking similar to a circle. Then, she placed four large rocks in it, three stones near the sides of the circle and one stone in the center.

"Although simple, this is a map of the Adamant Realm."

Eve pointed to the three rocks near the side of the circle as human territory, where many people like us live. She also pointed to the rock in the middle, explaining that it was the demon's territory.

"Demon Kingdom of Necron, by the name of Demon King Zoggoroth," Eve said, sounding enthusiastic as she explained it to me.

"Every summer, in the month of Yelf, Prannah, and Ann. They will migrate to warmer human regions," Eve explained.

"Then every winter comes, absolutely no demons dare approach the human area because of the cold," Eve continued.

"Do the human and demon territories have different seasons?"

"I don't know why, but the seasons here and there are always different. If it's summer here, it's winter there."

Just like magic, but this is a virtual world. The impossible may be possible depending on the administrator of this program.

Eve suddenly stood up and asked me to hurry to the backyard. She was carrying a wooden stick which was somehow much slimmer than mine.

Does she want to have a match using that branch?

It was far enough away that even Eve's house couldn't be seen from the distance we walked.

"Where will we go?" I asked, curious.

"There is a wide green field. We can practice over there," Eve replied, pointing to a place that was somehow higher up.

I wondered whether we would climb a hill or a cliff to get there?

We had come out of the forest, and there were towering rock cliffs, above which we could still see a dense forest waiting for us to come.

"Should we climb this?" I asked, surprised.

"We're not going to climb this," Eve replied, leading me down a path that ran under the cliff.

The road seemed to lead us to a wide field beside the cliff. Then, what I assumed was right, there was a field with uneven ground contours with wooden dolls scattered everywhere.

"Do you always train alone here?" I asked Eve, clearing her throat as she tried to stand up a wooden dummy that looked decorated with practice cuts and slashes.

"Yeah, like that. But now I have you to accompany me to practice," Eve replied, turning around and pointing at me with a smile.

I smiled. For some reason, her character showed me more tenderness. I'm optimistic that I can get stronger and get out of this world as soon as possible. To be honest, I miss both my parents there.

The thirteen wooden dolls that were randomly placed had already finished standing. Eve came to me while carrying a tree branch that was quite thin in her right hand.

"I'll show you what my training is like, Arthur."

The corners of my lips lifted as I tilted my head slightly to the right, "Okay. I'll be watching carefully."
