Anastasia Gorgos POV:
I watched as the two youths began to unleash their full power. I waited until the very last instant before making my move. I was partly curious as to see what sort of Runes they had. To use the full might of one's Rune, you had to sort of call out your attack. It was embarrassing, but it was like how, with Arts, you had to say their name before using them.
Now, for Runes, you did this to 'realize the existence' of your Rune in this world while for Mana Arts, it was to visualize your spell.
Then, I made my move. No one could perceive my movements, the two children had been knocked out before they could unleash their full power. Even the examiner on site hadn't noticed I was there initially, he bowed slightly upon seeing me. I was currently holding the two kids by their collars, both of their 'Runic Armaments' had dissipated.
They both had powerful Runes. The attacks I assumed they were unleashing were Excalibur and Vasavi Shakti. Excalibur was the Sacred Sword used by King Arthur, whilst Vasavi Shakti belonged to two people. However, judging by how the armor dissipated when he brought forth his spear, he must have possesed the Rune of Karna.
Karna was the son of the Sun God, a Demi God who's golden armor made him nigh impervious to harm, and was also granted a spear of light by the same God who stripped him of his armor. His armor was like his skin, so when he gave away his 'skin' for the sake of fulfilling a promise, he had been rewarded with the Divine Spear, Vasavi Shakti.
Although, in the Myth, Vasavi Shakti was to kill Karna after its use, it seemed like a different set of rules applied here. I assumed it was to do with his 'armor' shattering.
And the other boy was going to call on Excalibur. One of two possibilities existed, either he wielded the power of King Arthur…
…or, he wielded the power of every Knight Of The Round Table.
Now, I was quite knowledgeable of myths and tales, but even I didn't know which of the two he wielded. Regardless of which he had, he'd be strong. But still, I was not sure if he could overcome that monster.
'Valier.'
As a fellow Demon Blood, when we locked eyes, our bloodlines resonated. But his blood was of an entirely different order. It was pure, extremely pure. And on top of that, his physique was glorious. I was an experienced fighter, while of course, I couldn't just look at someone and tell them what they would be good be at and what their body was suited for.
However, even I could tell that boy had the perfect body for combat. Archery, swordsmanship, spearmanship, you name it, and I bet he would be able to learn it and take it to an extremely high level. Everyone's body had different aptitudes for different weapons, but with him, it was sort of like he had a maxed out aptitude for everything.
I wasn't sure if he was aware of his physique, but I was going to have to meet him at some point anyways. Perhaps sooner would be better than later.
Especially since he held back significantly during the entrance exam, his blood was poisonous for whatever reason. But he really didn't need to use poison, realistically, he could cut through Luna Valkyr in one hit.
Valier POV:
I was currently at a sort of party held for those accepted into the academy. I was sat down on the side, not doing much of anything really. I looked around and saw Luna Valkyr, her face was slightly red and her breathing was off. I contemplated checking her condition with my Demonic Eyes, but I decided to hold off on using them as they put a strain on my brain.
Well, before they didn't, but now the eye of a God has been assimilated into mine, so while they'd become stronger, they now come with some caveats. The only reason my brain could even process the information received by my eyes was because of my Demonic Physique. My brain could process, handle, and decipher information much better than that of any regular person.
It even allowed for acute control of my body, allowing me to do things that were rather weird at first glance.
For example, I could make my eyes look in opposite directions, I could alter the flow of my own blood, I could even change how fast my heart was beating, I could stop it's beating if I really wanted to. But even I wouldn't survive for very long without my heart beating, but I could force my muscles to circulate my blood.
My 'Demon's Breath' could only be achieved because of this perfect body of mine working in tandem with my brain. Demon's Breath was far too strenuous for normal people, without Mana Enhancement, the body's of regular people would simply be crushed. Their muscles would break their own bones.
Speaking of broken bones, I had my injured legs healed. They were still a bit sore, it seemed like I broke my bones a bit too well. I only intended to make my 'Flash Step' look like a bad technique.
I looked around the venue, some people were throwing me some looks, some with curiosity and others with mild disdain. Then, one of them approached me. She had long, golden hair, her presence alone seemed to draw even more attention than before.
My eyes slowly made their way to her. On the way there, my eyes trailed from her legs, to her thighs, past her chest, and finally I laid my eyes upon hers.
The 'divine beauty' before me was none other than Angelica Godhart, that was to say, my 'liege.' Unfortunately, I didn't have the same rights as other Pendragons. Pendragons didn't have to kneel to the Imperial Family, I however did.
She disgusted me on a cellular level. Valier's blood was among the purest. Now, that didn't inherently make him stronger. What it did do was make his instincts as a Demon Stronger. This meant that Angels repulsed him.
Or it might be that I didn't like her. But then again, did I actually like anyone?
I looked at Angelica with a rather plain expression. I didn't really want to talk to her. She was sort of annoying in my opinion, but there wasn't any particular reason as to why I thought that.
I undid the style that my hair was currently in and turned it into a pony tail, forming a hair tie with 'weapon creation.'
"Valier, would you mind coming with me for a seco-"
"I would. But does this look like a good time for you to take me away to some room to entertain you with whatever it is you want?"
Now, this wasn't the best way to handle this situation. But at this very moment, I genuinely didn't want to spend time with her unnecessarily. Every fiber in my being was repulsed by those eyes, by her hair, and by her blood. My cells were screaming at me to kill her. To tear her wings off her body.
To make her feel the disgrace 'we' felt.
I didn't know who 'we' was. But I wanted to avenge them. Although, at this point, I could be considered a hybrid between humans, God's, Dragon's, and Demon's. I was more Demon than anything, and despite my blood being somewhat more diluted now, I still possessed this innate animosity.
Inversely, Angelica bore the least hatred to my kind out of all the Godharts. However, the rest of the Godharts weren't.
"I see your point, we can discuss it over lunch at a later date I suppose."
Angelica wasn't particularly offended, perhaps she wasn't someone who cared about this sort of stuff?
"That works for me."
I mean, I didn't lose anything by talking to her later.
She then bent over slightly, her lips were only a few centimeters away from my ears.
"Remember, you still owe me a favor. Although I don't need you at this very moment, your services may be needed in the future."
And with that, she promptly left and went to mingle with some others.
Honestly, I didn't know If she was flirting with me or what. I wasn't interested in romance to be honest, I mean, having her as a romantic partner wouldn't be bad since I would have access to her influence. Angelica was quite generous towards Artorius in the novel after all, she let him use her shadows, wealth, and authority whenever he needed it. I mean, so did the other Heroines, but you know, it still counted I supposed.
But like I was saying, Luna was the most interesting thing in this party. She was my favorite character in the novel, she wielded blood as she held the bloodline of the Vampires.
My mentor had an ability similar to what Luna had, that is to say, the power to control blood.
That had nothing to do with why she was my favorite though, I'm just innately fond of her powers.
